RE: Pokemons and stuff - Chris2Balls [:B] - 05-21-2011 shade more inside, you seem to be shading the outline, which gives a flat rendition to the pokémon. RE: Pokemons and stuff - DioShiba - 05-22-2011 I tried to do what chris2balls said and I slightly mess around with the contrast and saturation. All I can say is that I am perfectly pleased with how the palette came out, maybe because this is how I originally wanted it. some of the shading might not make sense but I don't know how serious it is for it to matter. EDIT: I'm confident enough to say it's pretty much finished. RE: Now for something completely different. - DioShiba - 05-28-2011 As you can see, this is an early WIP of a Hi-Res stereotypical "man" with big guns and a lot of used steroids, kind of like the ones you'd see in a action film. Things I plan on tweaking: -The chest, it looks like he has a boob on his left side. -His chin needs to be straightened out -The back might need to be fixed a tad. -Eventually, I will get to the hands and add detail you all know the drill go go go. RE: Now working on something "American" - Gors - 05-28-2011 long long arms short short legs big big head and no one carry a gun like that RE: Now working on something "American" - Chris2Balls [:B] - 05-28-2011 YOU DONT LOOK AT ENOUGH MUSCLY MEN DO IT http://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&hl=en&source=hp&biw=1280&bih=648&q=muscly+men&gbv=2&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq= LOOK HOW HAPPY MUSCLY IS UNREAL TORSO THREE -> BITCH JUST GOT RIPPED, HUH RE: Now working on something "American" - DioShiba - 05-28-2011 (05-28-2011, 04:57 PM)Gors Wrote: long long arms Any better? But when werking on sprites you need to have references, a little on the gay side or not. 0.o um... yeah. And I change the gun again to a tommy. I dunno, tbh it would look better if it was a human, but, okay. RE: Now working on something "American" - Chris2Balls [:B] - 05-28-2011 i have the impression i'm looking at a melted figurine. :/ the crotch is far, far too low. maybe around hand level but definitely no lower. the legs look really mangled: basically, you need a reference. RE: Now working on something "American" - Britt - 05-28-2011 The arm is way to long, and the forearm is to short. It should look more like this: RE: Now working on something "American" - DioShiba - 05-28-2011 With everyone's recent advice and some self criticism, I decided to redo some areas of the piece. most notably the arms and the tommy gun (Because I realized I fucked up in the last one.) also some muscle detail. RE: Now working on something "American" - Delicious - 05-28-2011 He's got quite the refined adominal structure and large shoulders, but lacks in many other areas, especially traps. His legs are far too short for his body, and seem quite chubby (instead of muscular due to lack of definition) compared to his cut torso. I'd suggest looking at some reference for this. Keep up the good work though, I'm enjoying the face and look forward to seeing the rendering process once this is all fixed! Good luck man! RE: Now working on something "American" - Zapchu25 - 05-29-2011 What style are you going for exactly? Realistic or cartoony? I feel as though you yourself don't know. If you want to take the realistic side, you really need to look at some references. ( <--- Broken Record) But a more cartoony approach can withstand over/under exaggerated characteristics. A giant upper body can have a very small loower body. It's all about what you're going for. Look around for some styles you would be interested in and try to emulate them in your own art RE: Now working on something "American" - Delicious - 05-29-2011 Reference should be used regardless of the sprite being stylized or realistic, or atleast that's my opinion.. |
