oot already looks insanely good with the HD texture mods and in 1080p (and i'm pretty sure you can do like 8x AA as well) and people are experimenting with replacing the current models with higher poly ones

pretty soon you'll be ale to play the original game in true HD.

I like the cel shade mod

i want that woppet

where can i get it ill give you favors

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - Vipershark - 05-09-2011

the hd mod looks better imo
the cel shade mod looks primitive with the n64 lighting

everything just looks flat as opposed to cartoony like in WW

it's not 100% complete (as you can see by that wall in the background) but it's a huge improvement
I love the hylian shield

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - Cobalt Blue - 05-09-2011

but the HD textures clash horribly with the lowpoly models.

not to mention i dont see why you need HD textures at all!

Some things are brightened, but the Deku Tree still looks creepy and the giant Skullutas are still nightmare fuel especially with the glowing mouths.

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - Alpha Six - 05-09-2011

Anybody else notice the HUGE difference between this:

and the game in motion? Notably in the really grim lighting?

I honestly think it looks even darker than the original Gohma boss fight.

I think it's safe to say "fuck screenshots" since they obviously aren't how the final game looks.
Actually, after watching that video it makes me wonder if this is how the entire game is going to look-- a lot of areas are more "saturated," but they've retained the evil, sinister, grim feeling in the darker areas, it seems.

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - Garamonde - 05-09-2011

The game looks fantastic--and you can't say it still doesn't look fabulously creepy like always. That Skulltula was still freaky as heck. TBH though I honestly don't remember that Gohma boss fight. I miss this game. Sad

fixed it.

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - Rakia - 05-09-2011

Yeah I was just gonna say, solely based on the video, the game looks way better in motion than from the screen shots.

that's why I said in my last post that people are working on making highpoly models

combine those with the high res textures and play in 1080p
HD oot

Screenshots never seem to do the games actual justice. At least for me, it takes the gameplay videos to show me how it looks, since you can take a picture and vamp it up as much as you want, but when it looks like piles of moving shit, that's just not cool.

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - Koopaul - 05-10-2011

I like how the Skultula's eyes now flash.

RE: Zelda: OOT Comparison - Helmo - 05-10-2011

I still think it looks bad
