RE: Glitch needs some help with not sucking. - Gors - 08-12-2011 the sprite definitely has a better pose. Could be better, such as making him lean forward a little and not making the sword completely in a 45ยบ angle. what you need the most is how to shade and choose better colors; that will increase your sprite's looks. Notice how c2b used a more contrasting color for shadows and the way he shaded things. Shading is a technique used to convey depth, and if yours doesn't, it's because something is wrong. check the sprite dictionary's explanation about shading if you didn't yet, and be sure to see the tutorials linked in the same thread. RE: Glitch needs some help with not sucking. - Glitch - 08-12-2011 Alrighty, I'm almost done with the lineart then, I'll be sure to fix the swords angle. When you say he needs to lean more, you mean lean his torso forward right? Once I have it all fixed up I'll get to the shading and see if I understand well enought. RE: Glitch needs some help with not sucking. - Glitch - 08-20-2011 I haven't been able to use an actual computer in quite a while until recently, so I haven't been able to look at my WIP again until today. So far I can't make the robey thingy without making him look fat, and unnatural, so I may just have him without it. I'll see what I can do. Just thought I'd inform you all. RE: Glitch needs some help with not sucking. - Glitch - 10-03-2011 So I had to whip up a quick draft of the shading, I like parts and I dislike others. Haven't had any time to work on this or any spriting in general since school started so I'm really out of practice. So, tear it apart? RE: Glitch needs some help with not sucking. - Gwen - 10-07-2011 Glitch! I'm glad to see you've finally made the transition from Mcleod, I'm sure you'll like it here! I'm glad you haven't quit working on glitch as that was always interesting! Hope to see you become a great spriter and enjoy it here. P.S. I was Dr. Rockso if you don't remember RE: Glitch needs some help with not sucking. - Glitch - 10-08-2011 Oh hey yeah I was looking at changing for a while, but my problem I had, and still have, is that I have trouble making time for this, so my custom works definitely have 0 consistency in quality. :/ RE: Glitch needs some help with not sucking. - Glitch - 10-11-2011 So, if everyone else has given up on that... I actually have free time, and would like to work on something. And honestly I'd like to work on something new. So, would anyone like to give me crit? (08-03-2011, 06:51 PM)Glitch Wrote: |
