RE: Tiers of Tears: The creation for weak Pokemon wanting strength! - PRIMAL MORON - 08-13-2011 Thank you gentlemen, your suggestions have been added to my to-do list for both Chinchou and Onix. I'm going to focus mainly on Chinchou though, Onix will take a serious and complete movement/spriting makeover, which I haven't even really thought through completely yet. I will attempt to alter Chinchou's movement style by adding bones and possibly add physics for testing the movements. I'm also going to consider making a diagram to map how Chinchou moves now, compared to any references from anime or otherwise. Lastly, I may end up scrapping Onix or putting him on hiatus if I cannot figure out way to create a better flow in his movement. Just all short updates you should get to know. That's all for now. RE: Tiers of Tears: The creation for weak Pokemon wanting strength! - Link - 08-13-2011 Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but the antenna furthest way on Chinchou seems to be much, much smaller than the one closer to us. I don't think the size difference would be that huge, despite the perspective. I also don't understand why he's making that movement. It seems unnatural that it would just swing it's arms back and forth so forcibly if it's just idle. Just my two cents. RE: Tiers of Tears: The creation for weak Pokemon wanting strength! - AEM - 08-13-2011 Welcome old friend, I'm loving how Oddish has changed. Also, that Onix looks great, but he could use a little clean up. RE: Pokemon Stadium 3: Vintage World Cup (Tiers of Tears new basis) - PRIMAL MORON - 08-14-2011 Updates, Updates, Updates... See the first post, there's a special announcement, and at the end, I added credits to literally everyone that helped in someway with this project, if i got any names wrong, do tell, because I'm not the greatest speller on Earth with made up words or names. If your name you name was missed, please PM me, if you want your name taken out, please PM me. Also, Chinchou version 7 feels pretty complete to me, if there's any objections (other than Phoenix Wright) please speak up. That's all for now. RE: Pokemon Stadium 3: Vintage World Cup (Tiers of Tears new basis) - Garamonde - 08-14-2011 It's looking a lot better! I'd personally prefer if you had my name down as "Mighty Jetters", but if it's trouble to change it then it's no problem. RE: Pokemon Stadium 3: Vintage World Cup (Tiers of Tears new basis) - Chris2Balls [:B] - 08-14-2011 The eyes moving up and down don't convey volume, for some reason... perhaps it's because it doesn't change on the body's volume? The antennae still don't give me the impression that they're going up and down, but just getting squashed by a transformation of the pieces. The sprite is better than previously, though! RE: Pokemon Stadium 3: Vintage World Cup (Tiers of Tears new basis) - Cobalt Blue - 08-15-2011 just a sugestion for future updates. rather than jamming everything into the first post, please update as your post so people can actually track the improvements as feedback is provided. is not only less annoying, but its easier to track the progress of the work. also that the face features are sliding across the face is really unnecesary. rather than jamming every single posible animation/giggling you could into teh sprite, you should work towards reflecting the character's attributes using body language. otherwise it look terribly overdone and distracting. I consider posts telling people updates other than the first one to be a waste of space and requires that you to consistently either chunk everything into a new post that you'll only use once (kinda like I'm doing right now), spam the living daylight out of your own topic, or run the risk of being missed due to non-stop commenting. Example: Post 18: Your comment with 4 suggestions. Post 19: Update, info That's all for now Post 20: Update, info That's all for now Post 21: Update, info That's all for now Post 22: Update, info That's all for now Post 23: New comment with 6 suggestions... You get the point. But if I do this instead: *Title Update 0001* Post 1: Update Info *Title Update 0002* Post 1: Update 2 Info People notice titles before ever opening a topic for the first time, so would it really be hard to remember a title change and just open the topic, and there it is, a new update right at the top numbered accordingly. And on some occasions, this for major changes of even just for something I feel the need to respond to: New post: Major update, Info That's all for now. or Comment post: Important info Then, New post: Response Info That's all for now. This way, The topic can still keep a good position in the forum, and get peoples' attention easily. Now that that's been established, let's get down to business on your suggestions. The face can be easily altered to stay in place, but if you'd like to see me get this right as far as body language goes, maybe I can watch the anime to see Chinchou's movement style and general position., or perhaps pull out a Pokemon 3d game example like PBR, XD, Colosseum, or even Pokemon Stadium 2 and watch Chinchou in action. Overall, It's a pretty easy task to imitate movements based on visual examples IMO. By version 10, I hope to get this right as a goal, but we'll see just how it goes. That's all for now. We know that your latest post is all that there is for now. Also, I'd suggest you start using spoilers for that kind of update, it'll make the post less huge! The Spoiler tags are not easy for me to find, but if you give me the code, I can fix the first post, trust me, been searching for it since day 1 of my return. And yes, I am about to say it again, That's all for now. RE: Update- 0002 Pokemon Stadium 3: Vintage World Cup (Tiers of Tears new basis) - Chris2Balls [:B] - 08-15-2011 Mhhh, I've also noticed you could improve on Chinchou's proportions: the antennae are longer in the refs, the eyes are bigger and the crosses follow the same axis, and the antennae dangle forward, in front on Chinchou, but not necessarily in its face. The reason why its eyes seem odd is because they don't move in coordination with the mouth, and the body doesn't change shape as Chinchou lifts its head up. Regarding the first post: it's still huge, you could hide obsolete updates with spoiler tags. You can label spoilers like this: Code:
here i am
(08-15-2011, 04:40 PM)MarvelFan Wrote: I'm really liking this new updates... can't wait to see the final result of these sprites. The point of a signature is to sign a post, so PRIMAL MORON could in fact put that phrase in his signature. If you find signatures annoying and repetitive, then you might want to consider hiding posts and removing your own. :p RE: Update- 0002 Pokemon Stadium 3: Vintage World Cup (Tiers of Tears new basis) - DioShiba - 08-15-2011 (08-15-2011, 04:40 PM)MarvelFan Wrote: And off-topic: In short and simple: you're not a robot, you don't need to say "that is all" like you're programmed to. That said you really shouldn't make walls of text saying what you updated or what you plan to update. Just post the sprite and we can tell if you updated it. |
