RE: I lost my whole Lvl 60+ Team: The frustrations of being a pokémon master - Maxpphire - 09-21-2012 Actually the Pokemon Missingno didn't do much to damage the game. If you battled with it in your party, the sprites will be scrambled, but is fixed when you viewed the stats of a non-glitch Pokemon, it caused your Hall of fame to be all funky if you viewed its stats, then is made a 128 of the 6th item in your bag. Thats all. Other Glitch Pokemon existed back then and may have ruined some parts of your game but Missingno was legitimately the "safest" of them all. RE: I lost my whole Lvl 60+ Team: The frustrations of being a pokémon master - Previous - 09-22-2012 Eh. I know what I've seen. RE: I lost my whole Lvl 60+ Team: The frustrations of being a pokémon master - Maxpphire - 09-22-2012 Actually Missingno's sister glitchmon, 'M was known to cause more damage to the game then Missingno and was much more dangerous. They have the same sprites and are easy to confuse. Anyway 'M is known for freezing the game if you attempt to remove it from the PC. So you might have had an 'M and not a Missingno. RE: I lost my whole Lvl 60+ Team: The frustrations of being a pokémon master - Previous - 09-22-2012 No, I'm pretty much extremely certain about that. I'm not saying it happens often, but it can happen, I've seen it happen, at least once, maybe twice. It probably only happens in very rare cases seeing how it reads memory adresses with more or less random data or data depending on the trainer name and ID and everything and may or may not require special values in order to glitch bad, but it can. Back then I assumed MissingNo. was safe, too. The other one was worse, certainly, but that's something I learned quickly enough |
