RE: PSVita games = no manuals... or, Dick Moves By Game Companies and why they're wrong - Gwen - 02-15-2012 Wait, so there'd still be multiple versions of the same console? That seems to defeat the point you're getting at.. RE: PSVita games = no manuals... or, Dick Moves By Game Companies and why they're wrong - Kriven - 02-15-2012 No, the point I'm getting at is that there should be a universal file format for games, and all consoles should be able to read it. It's not "one console". It's one format. One console would never actually work, but if you can read any game from any console, that's the point. It's not hurting anyone. At all. The only console exclusive features that could actually remain justified would be digital services, in which cases those had better align with the manufacturers other products (for instance, if Apple made a game console, it better be connected to the iTunes service.) RE: PSVita games = no manuals... or, Dick Moves By Game Companies and why they're wrong - Gwen - 02-15-2012 So you're basically wanting to get rid of console exclusiveness? Also if Apple made a game console, I'm quite sure it'd connect with iTunes service, it'd make no sense if it didn't. RE: PSVita games = no manuals... or, Dick Moves By Game Companies and why they're wrong - Kriven - 02-15-2012 That's exactly what I want. There's no reason for console exclusivity. RE: PSVita games = no manuals... or, Dick Moves By Game Companies and why they're wrong - Gwen - 02-15-2012 Thats why they should just release a version for each console then Naughty Dog is coming out with a post apocalyptic game that I'd love to try but don't have a Ps3 for, I just feel games should come out for every console if it's possible for the console to run. RE: PSVita games = no manuals... or, Dick Moves By Game Companies and why they're wrong - Kriven - 02-15-2012 What? No. They shouldn't "Just release a console for each version." I don't have to buy a Disney DVD Player to watch the Disney DVD version of my movie. If my 360 tanks, I don't want to have to replace all of my games in PS3 format to try a better console that my suit my needs more than the 360 does. RE: PSVita games = no manuals... or, Dick Moves By Game Companies and why they're wrong - Gwen - 02-15-2012 No, I'm saying a version of the game for each console, so basically every game is a multi-platform release. RE: PSVita games = no manuals... or, Dick Moves By Game Companies and why they're wrong - Kriven - 02-15-2012 Right, but there shouldn't be versions. One format. My disc should be able to work in a Wii and a 360 and a PS3. Not just one of the three. RE: PSVita games = no manuals... or, Dick Moves By Game Companies and why they're wrong - Gwen - 02-15-2012 Eh, if you were able to achieve that, everyone would have to send in their consoles or outright get new ones that are compatible with that. RE: PSVita games = no manuals... or, Dick Moves By Game Companies and why they're wrong - Kriven - 02-15-2012 Or just make it the next generation of consoles. RE: PSVita games = no manuals... or, Dick Moves By Game Companies and why they're wrong - Gwen - 02-15-2012 While that's possible, companies would never agree to such a thing. Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo would probably never agree on a way to split the profit of games. Why only get a cut when you can make a sole portion for yourself ya know? I'm not knocking your idea because that would be very convenient but profit wise for companies it makes no sense. RE: PSVita games = no manuals... or, Dick Moves By Game Companies and why they're wrong - Kriven - 02-15-2012 Which is the problem with the industry. Do I need the money mongers to have to agree to want something? I wasn't aware that was how wants worked. As far as I knew, I believed that wants worked in a way that bettered the industry and the consumers of said industry. Raising your ass because the companies don't like the wants is not how you make the world work. I mean, unless you want to live in 1984. RE: PSVita games = no manuals... or, Dick Moves By Game Companies and why they're wrong - Gwen - 02-15-2012 It's not like the companies are extreme dictators though, we have a system that works for both the companies and the users atm, and although it pisses me off that I can't play so and so because it's on the Ps3, I've still got plenty of other options that are on the other consoles as well. For example, I'd never want to see a Legend of Zelda game on another console than one of Nintendo's. That just would not sit in my stomach at all. RE: PSVita games = no manuals... or, Dick Moves By Game Companies and why they're wrong - Kriven - 02-15-2012 It sits in mine just fine :p And the companies are evil dictators. At least they're trying really, really hard to be. You're kidding yourself if you think Sony and Microsoft aren't after that power. He who rules the consumer rules the world, and the more they convince the consumer not to question their methods, the more of the world they control. RE: PSVita games = no manuals... or, Dick Moves By Game Companies and why they're wrong - Gwen - 02-15-2012 But video games don't rule the world at all silly, Google does They're the ones unveiling automated cars, now THAT scares me. |
