RE: Oh hey - Phantom Killah - 02-25-2012

They're DS games? What the hell, Nintendo?

RE: Oh hey - Garamonde - 02-25-2012

They probably want the games to be accessible for those (like me) who don't have, or want a 3DS.

I was going to be very frustrated if it was 3DS only, too. =P

RE: Oh hey - Gwen - 02-26-2012

Honestly it pisses me off.

RE: Oh hey - Phantom Killah - 02-26-2012

It's just,

the 3DS has so much more power and so many more features than the DS and I was hoping that the next Pokemon would take advantage of that, but instead we're probably getting something that looks and plays exactly like the last two games.

and that's disappointing.

RE: Oh hey - TomGuycott - 02-26-2012

I'd personally try and hold out for a Black & White 3

Which they'd probably call Black & White 3D DURR HURR HURR!!!

RE: Oh hey - Gwen - 02-26-2012

I was really hoping they were going to actually use the models from the 3ds pokedex. like Phantom K said, they're throwing so much potential down the shitter by releaseing it on the ds. It's punishing people who bought the 3ds (me for one) and that's not cool in my books.

RE: Oh hey - A.J. Nitro - 02-26-2012

I'm glad this game is on the DS rather than the 3DS. I tend to play Pokemon games for a long period of time and probably wouldn't be able to play as long on the 3DS due to the battery life.

RE: Oh hey - redblueyellow - 02-26-2012

Hmm, I'm a bit disappointed, but at the same time I had a feeling it was going to be this. Had to have a third Gen 5 game eventually. Makes me wonder which other Pokemon will have alternate forms for these games.

I'll be interested in seeing what features they implement, bringing back the safari zone would be nice.

Also, I guess one good thing about having it on the DS is that the sprites will be rippable. Tongue But seriously, I was kinda hoping for it to be on the 3DS. The 3DS is lacking a strong list of games.

OH NO, DISSENTING OPINION INCOMING

I'm of the opinion that the 3DS is crap until they fix a bunch of issues with the design. Like making the battery life not awful (though that might be tough to fix), and making a design that doesn't scratch itself, and moving the stylus slot to somewhere not stupid (though, I guess it being where it is is better for lefties but meh, most people aren't?). Oh also the whole second circle pad thing. That's dumb too.

Plus, it'd be kind of a dick move to make a Pokemon sequel for a newer system, because there's no way they'd communicate easily. So hey, for now I'm glad that it's keeping to the DS. We can leave the fancy dancy 3D models for the inevitable Gen VI.

RE: Oh hey - Gwen - 02-26-2012

The second circle pad is optional and is only an improvement, my battery life is fine, I don't see why that is a complaint amongst most. And the stylus being made better for left handed people is awesome, because for the most part, we're dicked throughout life by everything else. And design of the actual console material wise has NOTHING to do with whether or not a game should be on a system.

RE: Oh hey - Koopaul - 02-26-2012

Well we lefties sorta got dicked in the new Kid Icarus game which requires lefties to buy Circle Pad Pro for comfortable gameplay.

But for the most part 3DS is awesome. You only need one friend code for everything, having these on the DS still means having to memorize yet another friend code!

RE: Oh hey - Gwen - 02-26-2012

Eh it's only $20, and I'm one of the few looking forward to it, it seems, but yeah that's true.

and lets not forget how much power the DS has. After all it hardly at all was pushed to it's limits when HG/SS, or any 3D game on the DS came out right?

This, I think they plan on bringing on the 3D when Gen VI comes around. It'll be much more amazing then. two whole new experiences at the same time. I'm sure Game Freak has great plans.
