I was blown away by Dark Cloud when I first played it sixth grade, and I tried coming back to it last year and was totally let down. There are still aspects about it I like but the flaws are so gigantic and aggravating now. Maybe when you're younger you just assume flaws in games are actually your fault? Years ago when I'd die in that game I'd give it another try again and again, I guess assuming I just needed to get better at playing, but I play now and think, "the camera in this game is terrible and constantly gets me killed or prevents me from opening doors, and gold is way too scarce to buy enough healing items or repair powder." I suppose once you recognize that these things aren't your fault, you come to the realization that you don't have to subject yourself to that, and there are plenty of other games out there that are actually worth your attention.

Try playing Dark Cloud 2. It really does improve a lot and is more likable.

I've heard a few different people say that, and I intend to. Smile

I don't just magically like anything with Mario or Sonic's face on it.

But at the same time, I don't magically dislike anything with Mario or Sonic's face on it, either.
