RE: SMBZ Officially Cancelled - Ekoi - 03-30-2012

Chances are he only worked on it on and off for a month and was all "yeah I'm not feeling this anymore kay whatever" and then drafted the journal.

Don't care about him anymore, KNEW the last episode was going to be the last, and I actually just a few days ago unfollowed his dA. rofl

Guy can do what he wants, but his public declaration of his discontinuing the series was certainly not the most graceful. Assuming he wasn't just making shut up on the fly, he could have posted his script or plot summaries and let his fans enjoy it as that or even animate it themselves.

And nothing of value was lost.

Yes it's pretty dissappointing that he stopped but at least he has shown the parts that he already had done which was kind of nice of him to do.

RE: SMBZ Officially Cancelled - Keychain - 03-30-2012

I remember watching the first few of these back during my.. uhm, well.. Sonic days. They were pretty good but I'm not nearly as impressed as I used to be. Still, it's a shame because I'm sure there's a lot of people who still enjoy it.

RE: SMBZ Officially Cancelled - Cobalt Blue - 03-30-2012

You have got to be kidding me.

But anyway, it's a shame on one hand that the sprite Flash animation series has been canceled, and it's kind of douchey how he handled the situation, but hey, at least he was honest about it. Perhaps two years late, but he was honest about it.

RE: SMBZ Officially Cancelled - Koopaul - 04-02-2012

I guess I'm the only one who thinks this series is overrated?

I mean its got great action but it's story feels way too fan fictiony to me.

I think I stopped after Sonic grabbed a Fire Flower and turned into like a Fiery Super Sonic.

That's when my "This-is-really-stupid" nerve couldn't take it anymore.

RE: SMBZ Officially Cancelled - Kriven - 04-02-2012

Koopaul, the whole thread has been everybody else saying the series is overrated.

RE: SMBZ Officially Cancelled - GaryCXJk - 04-02-2012

Also, a few weeks ago Randy Solem died, but nobody cares apparently (to be honest, neither do I, but I guess some might still want to know, yes, I know I sound hard, but I have my reasons).

RE: SMBZ Officially Cancelled - Rosencrantz - 04-02-2012

Really, though, I'm glad that he's ending the series at this point of no motivation, rather than trying to force out an episode and completely half-assing it and ruining whatever was good about it.

It's just... kind of weird to go out of this in favor of doing more furry art and furry porn. I mean, granted, he's apparently making money off of that shit, but it's pretty weird to go from appeasing general audiences to doing X-rated stuff. I'll agree that he's free to do whatever makes him happy (and whatever gets him cash), but... it's just weird to go from something that appealed to a wide audience (case in point: only reason I began to watch SMBZ in the first place was because my mom found it on accident and thought it was cute enough to show it to me) to making more art that would *probably* make people (especially my mom) not want to use the internet ever again.
also that thing about Randy Solem is depressing; haven't heard about the guy before, and after googling him I never really was interested in the things he did, but still, that's depressing.

RE: SMBZ Officially Cancelled - ThePortalGuru - 04-02-2012

Aw, balls. I really loved the series up to this point, too. To end it on a cliffhanger like that is just disappointing to me. But hey, at least he let the community know. *COUGH* RUNOUWSUPERSMASHBROTHERSENGINE *COUGH*

Randy Solem? Isn't he the dude who made those rise of the mushroom kingdom flash movies and had that vgdc site?

that sucks Sad
