This is just a wrapper for a command-line program, as explained in the first spoiler. If you want to request anything conversion-wise go here, specifically in the vgmstream thread, since that's the library that does the converting. Thanks man. RE: [APP][FINISHED] Puggsoy's Video Game Sound Converter - HotSnot67 - 05-06-2013 It wont work on the .dsp files that I have stored. RE: [APP][FINISHED] Puggsoy's Video Game Sound Converter - puggsoy - 05-07-2013 I assume by "won't work" you mean the "not supported/doesn't exist" error, right? Can you give more info on where you got these from (which game, console, etc)? I'm afraid I can't do much about it code-wise but maybe I can help in finding out if the problem is VGSC or something else. RE: [APP][FINISHED] Puggsoy's Video Game Sound Converter - Garamonde - 05-07-2013 it also occurs with many sound files from the game Bomberman Jetters for GameCube so I assume it's more than one game RE: [APP][FINISHED] Puggsoy's Video Game Sound Converter - HotSnot67 - 05-07-2013 (05-07-2013, 02:38 AM)puggsoy Wrote: I assume by "won't work" you mean the "not supported/doesn't exist" error, right? Cars Race-O-Rama for the Nintendo Wii RE: [APP][FINISHED] Puggsoy's Video Game Sound Converter - puggsoy - 05-07-2013 Huh, well unfortunately I don't know what to do about it. If you can give me one of the files that doesn't work I might be able to check it out, but otherwise I don't think I can really do anything, unfortunately. RE: [APP][FINISHED] Puggsoy's Video Game Sound Converter - Garamonde - 05-07-2013 here are two of my files, one that don't work and one that does. Both links give me an Error 404 File Not Found page, unfortunately. I do want them though, the more samples the better. I took a look and have a suspicion that these files might be compressed somehow, rather than proper DSPs. Of course, it's also just possible that they're an unsupported DSP format. I want to take a look at MJ's files though, so I can compare with a working DSP. RE: [APP][FINISHED] Puggsoy's Video Game Sound Converter - Garamonde - 05-08-2013 rrrgh, thought that method of file hosting was reliable. oh well here they are again (all of them I guess). btw, might be worth noting that some files have lowercase extensions while others have uppercase, although this doesn't depict which ones work so... RE: [APP][FINISHED] Puggsoy's Video Game Sound Converter - puggsoy - 05-09-2013 Sweet, thanks. Something unexpected came up so unfortunately I can't check the files right now; I'm posting this from my phone. Once I can though I'll take a look and see what I can do. RE: [APP][FINISHED] Puggsoy's Video Game Sound Converter - puggsoy - 05-23-2013 OK, first of all sorry about the delay, I forgot about this and only remembered today. I took a gander and there's a clear difference in the binary of working vs non-working. There is a pattern in the first couple of bytes that appears in both in working and non-working files, but working files have a huge chunk of emptiness after this pattern (which I assume to be the header). What comes after the emptiness (or lack thereof in non-working files) looks the same for both types of files though, with big chunks of emptiness appearing about halfway and at the end in both types (which I assume is to keep the file sizes uniform, because they are). Anyway, what I can make of this is that for some reason, the files that don't work look like they're compressed somehow. I have no idea why or how though. Also, HotSnot's file looks way different than MJ's ones, with no "header pattern" or massive chunks of emptiness. It's either corrupt or compressed differently. Beyond this, I'm afraid I can't help much. I'll enquire on the vgmstream forum though and see if they can help, just so you know I'll be supplying some of these files for them. RE: [APP][FINISHED] Puggsoy's Video Game Sound Converter - DragonDePlatino - 05-29-2013 OH MY GOSH I'VE BEEN LOOKIN FOR- Oh wait... there's no .SPC or .RSN format...Oh well, no SNES sound effects for me, then. :c RE: [APP][FINISHED] Puggsoy's Video Game Sound Converter - puggsoy - 05-29-2013 Have you tested them? Simply the extension doesn't really mean much, it's completely possible their actual format is compatible. RE: [APP][FINISHED] Puggsoy's Video Game Sound Converter - Mystie - 02-04-2014 Sorry for bumping this thread, but I just downloaded this program, and whenever I try to load an .aax file, nothing shows up in the file window, and the "Remove All" and "Convert" buttons don't light up either. Why is this? |
