Not only I took shinbs' suggestion I decided to take a peek over at crappy's topic as well. Remember that pile of shit in the left? Look in the middle.

Finally done, though before I get around animating, I'd like some C+C on this.

The body faces too much towards the viewer and the legs appear to be of different length. I guess the white line shouldn't be lower on the far leg than on the close one, it makes the hip joints look dislocated. The feet aren't properly connected (look at how the legs go and how you attached the boots, the left one (character's left) should be move a pixel to the right and the right one to the left to make them look less broken.
You have some low contrasts like on the highlights on the head, it looks like one bright cluster albeit you used two colors.

I was trying to follow the source sprite but I guess it came out weird in the end, considering it was also based off an old sprite.

Second attempt + Dicking around with the colors.

Expanding into other characters from the game other than Pulseman. Lower left we have Veil, the obvious edit and Beatrice, on the upper right next to Pulseman himself. She is incomplete as I am having trouble with her hair and my only refrence of the character is that pixel art from the game's ending.

Having trouble with Beatrice, might redo her entirely now that I have more better refrences as I poked around google.

it's getting cluttered again, be cautious about readability when making sprites.

I'm actually glad that you already noticed it and is planning to scrap, because this means you've built some self-criticism, and this is good!

the thing of using 'skeletons' to make sprites, gaia, is not only to make a solid base: it also serves to lay down the basic shapes the body will form.

here's my take on her. Avoid black outlines INSIDE the sprite, and treat the hair bangs as an unified block instead of outlining each bang. I also suggest you to make development steps, like i do: make a rough outline, copy it and continue working on it. Make a copy at regular intervals so in the end you get a step-by-step sprite making process, and this way we'll know where you're doing things wrong.

PS: it doesn't help that the girl you chose has the stupidest hair

About the hair, I've seen worse cases of a bad hair day. Hell, I can probably name one off the top of my head to your liking.

Though she was origionally meant to fit into the same style as the other two, which was the origional point of the style but ended up using a diffrent method. Now that I have an ACTUAL sprite to work with as a ref I can re-do the character entirely in the same style.

our skeletal bases might be diffrent tho', as no two skeletons the same when spriting.

I think it's ready for the reworkshop thread no? After much trial and error I think I got her face right, and ended up mixing both mine and gors' together.
