I don't think there's much Nintendo can do about that.
Nor do they care, since that effort PETA made is futile.

also gonna mention it wasn't even possible to be a healthy vegan/vegetarian like 200 years ago; its not like you could take dietary supplements all the time (Hindus made extensive use of dairy products which iirc PETA hates as well)
plus people like the Native Americans and Africans required animals for everything from housing to food to clothing

so really its hard to demand the world stop eating meat when its so embedded into almost all of our cultures

dumb copyright-infringing flash games certainly dont help their cause

It did convince me to not treat Pokémon bad or eat Pokémon meat.
Not that I did. Still drink Moo Moo Milk, though.

You know, between me and my pa, he doesn't comply with PETA's actions either. We can agree on the fact that PETA's a bunch of looneys that escaped some looney bin a decade ago.

I'm willing to bet PETA will go after Angry Birds next -- In a gory fashion in which "bad people" (the guys who fling the birds around) give directions to the bird's nests "the pigs" (actually poachers) just to slaughter innocent birds by flinging them at objects causing them to explode into millions of squishy bits while mating for fun while the poachers steal the eggs of bird of paradise and sell them for millions.

Any takers?

Funny you mention Angry Birds, since today when I told my mom about the whole PETA Pokémon charade, she also said Angry Birds was next.
The game is popular, so it wouldn't surprise me, though another attack at Nintendo seems more likely. (It's unethical to steal squirrels' nuts.)

please peta

RE: Peta Gets Pokemon? - DioShiba - 10-09-2012

Evidentally PeTA hates mudkips so much they abuse it for their games.

Then the mudkips make you feel sad, asking you if you like them.

This is so funny and true. Both are a brainwashed cult of hypocritical douchebags led by a gangly blonde(ish) creeper. The parallels between Peta and Team Plasma is so incredibly eerie. I mean it's obvious Plasma's supposed to be similar to an animal rights group, but the absence of morality, the violence and the terrorism behind their actions makes the two groups seem so similar.

The only difference is that Team Plasma is kid friendly. PETA couldn't give two shits about kids.

RE: Peta Gets Pokemon? - Kitsu - 10-10-2012

I have to say that, as our current society sometimes supports euthanasia (for animals and humans in certain debilitating circumstances), it's hard to really see PETA mass euthanasia as a viable moral argument, as I'm sure they can easily come up with some justification for it.

RE: Peta Gets Pokemon? - Dazz - 10-10-2012

Kitsu, while there are many, many truths in what you say, there is just one major problem.

PETA believes in the total liberation and freedom of animals - there is no changing this message. They don't want people to abuse, use for entertainment, confine to shelter, use for guide dogs (!) or allow anybody to keep them as a pet. This would also indicate that they totally disagree with a person, or an organisation, in the act of putting an animal down. Because it cannot tell us that it wants it.
I understand that ethically animals at times have to be put down. But the percentage of animals PETA put down is tremendously outweighing their actual purpose of resheltering (which in itself is a completely ironic thing for the organisation to do) through adoption.

It's a totally viable, and vital argument to point out how fucking backwards these guys are. On top of that, the other points that can be easily driven home are that they fund radical extremists with charitable money. But then they also fund this fucking game, so we already know they have no idea how to handle the public's money.

I would jokingly ask if you were kidding, but seeing the kind of nutjobs we're dealing with...I wouldn't put it past these morons to do some kind of stunt like releasing a guide dog from its leash, leaving its blind owner to stagger around and end up falling down the stairwell into a subway or something.

It makes me want to beat them with a pipe while shouting:

"HEY PETA!! (SMASH!) IS THIS ALRIGHT?! (SMASH! SMASH!) AS LONG AS I'M NOT HURTING A F*CKING ANIMAL, IT'S ALRIGHT IF I CONTINUE BASHING YOUR BRAINS IN , RIGHT?! (SMASH!) IT'S NOT LIKE HUMAN BEING ARE ANIMALS TOO, RIGHT?! (SMASH!) YOU GUYS OBVIOUSLY HATE THE HUMAN RACE SO I HOPE THIS FEELS LIKE HEAVEN TO YOU! (SMASH! SMASH! SMASH! SMASH!) BECAUSE YOU'RE GONNA BE SEEING IT IN A FEW SECONDS!!!!"

RE: Peta Gets Pokemon? - TomGuycott - 10-10-2012

No no no no, if you beat a PETA member you're STILL a terrible person, because THEY are the only ones who have their mission to liberate every animal.

Or something.

RE: Peta Gets Pokemon? - Helmo - 10-10-2012

peta says boys are equal to rats which are equal to pigs because they're all mammals

Then I'll just say:

"Please don't mind me. Humans are technically animals too, correct? I'm simply trying to free you poor animals trapped within your own delusional insights. Because, you know, euthanasia is the key way to give animals a better life. Oh, that's an ironic statement, isn't it? Oh well."

(continues to smash heads)
