RE: Do you think being nice is more important than talent? - E-Man - 09-29-2013 .......... Really? Are you seriously going to use that tone with me? I really don't appreciate how you're talking to me right now. Who said I was talking about all talented people? If you ever met a guy called Tom Preston, you'll see what I mean by this. However, when someone starts to get into this guy's face for whatever reason (it doesn't matter if it's a justified reason or a pointless reason), then we see the true colors of this "nice" person. Okay, I will admit that it's fine to lose your temper every now and then, but if you can, try to keep it in. Besides, when I usually lose my cool, people lose a lot of respect in me and point out how childish I was. How could it not be a universal thing? Did you even read my post before all that? I said I didn't care about his sprites. What I meant was if he offered me a sprite request, I would more than likely take it. It's not like I'm going to beg him for sprites. I talk to him because I like his company. EDIT: On second thought, I would rather not argue with you now. Please forgive me if I ticked you off in any way. How about we just end it at this and call it a night? RE: Do you think being nice is more important than talent? - Mutsukki - 09-29-2013 I don't really care if you appreciate my tone or not, I'm kinda angry by how you keep trying to pin the blame on other people for them not sympathizing with you. Quote:Who said I was talking about all talented people? If you ever met a guy called Tom Preston, you'll see what I mean by this. Huh? I don't know if you used Preston as a good example or bad, because I actually think Preston is very childish and not really all that talented, but I don't judge every artist based on this one guy I saw on the internet. You seem to have some sort of fantasy view that every good artist is going to be a prick. If the person is bothering me or being a dick, I'm not gonna be nice to them. "How could it not be a universal thing?"? Maybe not everyone who gets angry at someone are childish and lose respect, I don't know? Quote:Did you even read my post before all that? I said I didn't care about his sprites. Of course I read, but that was either a freudian slip or I interpreted that completely wrong, because even in the context "while I would like a few sprites" sounds like you're unsatisfied about this aspect. RE: Do you think being nice is more important than talent? - E-Man - 09-29-2013 Okay, I'm very sorry I unintentionally made you angry. I only wanted to throw my two cents about and see what kind of answers I would get. Forgive me for any arguments it caused. RE: Do you think being nice is more important than talent? - Sengir - 09-29-2013 Okay, this argument is obviously going nowhere. Take it up in PM's if you really feel the need to, but I don't see this being resolved any time soon. Edit: Welp, ninja'd by E-Man. But an apology is a perfect note to end the thread on, I think. RE: Do you think being nice is more important than talent? - Garamonde - 09-29-2013 Just as a note, don't take it personally if someone seems like they're mad at something you said, that's just what happens online. We all mean well in this community and these guys are all trying to help. Some of these people get more worked up than others but I wouldn't get angry over it as ultimately it is still all criticism, in some form. And, to your benefit, this shows you how different people are and how you can deal with them. I think in the end you handled it quite well. Just keep your head up, take the advice you're given, work on it and I think you'll turn out fine! |
