NFL Blitz would like to have a word with you

what??? what the fuck are you talking about? mario party advance was EASILY the worst out of them all.
just because you don't have people to play with and are forced to resort to a single-player experience doesn't mean that the others are "unoriginal"

Until I see an awesome Wii(or something)-version of Super Dodgeball, sports games rank incredibly low on my list.

NFL Blitz, however, is the best sports game ever.

NHL Hitz 2003 for the Gamecube is another great sports title. Mario Superstar Baseball's pretty good with another person as well.

The thing about Mario Party Advanced was that, if you bought the game with the box, it came with a fold-out "board" and you can "play" a Mario Party-style game. If you can call it that.

Now, sticking with the fact that we are now determining another genre, don't be caught playing a NASCAR game. I swear: I played NASCAR 98, and for the life of me, I couldn't dent anybody. If I wanted to cause a crash, I would have my car, and only my car, totaled. All the others would come out in near-showfloor condition. Also, I'm not fond of golf simulators, except if they allow you to hit into the parking lot.

I don't think much of Sports games, but I tend to have a sweet spot for the FIFA series, mainly if they are ones with MLS teams in (I'm a member of the Texian Army's legion of Houston Dynamo fans).

Would you consider racing games as falling under the "sports" genre, or one of their own?

If racing does fall under that category, no, I wouldn't call it the worst.

Winning Eleven is a classic for me and my friends.
SSX 3 is awesome (haven't played the other games).

So no.

Sports games are kinda dumb. Why make a game of a game? It's the same concept as making a video game where you play as person playing N64.

Sports games are fun. I played NFL 09 on my cousins XBox, and, as long as you understand how to play Football it's really fun.
Sports games aren't the best, but they're definately not the worste.

I don't think sports games are the worst but I don't think they're the best either. I don't really like them only because if you play them too much you'll probably start to suck at the real thing. That's why I don't play wii sports.
And it's kind of like playing a game where you're a person who's playing another game, they're basically a borderline simulation game.

They can't be the worst because NFL is popular in everycountry mostly because WE ARE THE ONLY country that plays football. People by NBA and NFL more than somegames you can name. The other sports games I don't know. I guess you could have fun playing nascar if you get high.
Also crash boom bang was a last minute attempt to beat crash bash which was good.

Not that I own any NASCAR games or anything >.> but the wrecks are totally more realistic in the newer editions. BUt the core gameplay bores me to tears.

I think arcade style Sports games like the Mario sports titles, the Tony Hawk games and the Street series are all really fun but more traditional games are a bore and are more complicated than they need to be. Plus they're the same damn game every year! But I'm not a sports fan, so I'm clearly not the target demographic.

Though I definitely do not enjoy most "sports" games, they happen to produce the largest amounts of money each year. As long as they continue to do so, the industry will continue to pump them out.

It's like the law of supply and demand. There's a demand, so someone will supply it.
