RE: Are you ready to get Rawked? - Vipershark - 11-11-2008 Palette and lineart interlinked to theme. Okay. Sure, it uses the same palette, but that doesn't matter. ANYTHING can use the palette. I can recolor an lttp Link sprite with the M&L palette, but that wouldn't make it M&L style because it doesn't have the same type of shading and lineart. Speaking of lineart, M&L has AA. This does not. Not the same shading, and not the same type of lineart. I fail to see your point aside from the fact that it uses the palette. Of course you can use any palette, but that doesn't mean it will suit the lineart or shading. It'd be like me recolouring this with an ML palette. Would look like ass. I've said that I'm overrated here before. If I haven't said it on tSR, then I know I've done it in a couple of our MSN convos we had. Oh, BTW, I wasn't insulting either of you. Both of you are still great spriters. Which is exactly what I'm saying. That wouldn't even be close to M&L style, even though it used the palette. The shading style and lineart style are completely different. The same this is going on with this sprite. Same palette, different lineart and shading. RE: Are you ready to get Rawked? - Ton - 11-14-2008 Well, now that that's all over, I edited the shoes a bit. They're not much better, but they're ok. RE: Are you ready to get Rawked? - A.J. Nitro - 11-14-2008 He's leaning a bit too forward. Unless he should be like that. I don't remember. RE: Are you ready to get Rawked? - Ton - 11-14-2008 Well the official model is to his left... RE: Are you ready to get Rawked? - Vipershark - 11-15-2008 tbqh the shoes are still awful but the rest is fine RE: Are you ready to get Rawked? - CeeY - 11-15-2008 It seems really undershaded, and that pallet seems very soggy. The sprite is jagged, you need to have way more contrast, and maybe one more shade. Add the AA were it needs to be. And if you add more contrast on everything it will make it easier to see were the light is coming from. Giving you an improved sprite, the same with Adding AA will make it less jagged. One more shade would make everything look rounder, especially the belly. Also it's not good to trace sprites. You should make them totally custom. RE: Are you ready to get Rawked? - Miles07 - 11-17-2008 Or M&L style... But still, the "final" version (lower sprites) are definitely some of the better renditions I've seen of a 2D Rawk Hawk in a LONG time... Keep going, please! |
