You know how everyone here hates pillow shading?
That's how bad I hate dithering.
Pillow shading is actually acceptable to me in certain cases.

Dithering is bad when you just abuse of it like a lonely goat in the middle of nowhere.

just use it, wisely, and it wouldn't look that bad. look at exocet's work. its the brushed, checkboard'ed over dithered stuff that looks awful.
