Um, what's M&L?

Mario & Luigi. It's an RPG game for the Mario series for the GBA. You should check it out sometime.

Oh yeah. I played a ROM of one and didn't like it.

GadgetTR Wrote:...what exactly are the vertical sprites supposed to be? Swimming... in which direction? It looks like it would be swimming up, but it's facing toward us.

he has that motion on the game its from, but i think if he made an overworld that was more angled, it would be the sort of thing mario and luigi could actually jump on

RE: Custom M&L SM64 Sprites - CeeY - 06-10-2008

I changed the topic to SM64 because I wanted to do enemies from SM64, and I thought they would be more interesting. Except for the Dolphin thats going to be the only SMW sprite in here. Next Im planning on doing the bully family like, Big bully, chill bully, and chief chilly. Or do you guys have any different suggestions for me?

RE: Custom M&L SM64 Sprites - Adam - 06-10-2008

These are alright. Sadly, however, in your screenshot next to Mario with your Dolphin in it, the flat shading on the dolphin made it look like he was laying on the sand. The side poses need a lot of work. The jumping ones look good, though.

you should do a regular chain chomp
i dont think they have any of those on there

Yes there is. Any other suggestions. As for the side poses like Dex said, Elebit sent me this dolphin, and he edited the flat shading what do you guys think, do I use my shading, or his?[Image: idioterrorcf2.png]

the tail fin is still facing the wrong way Sick

RE: Custom M&L SM64 Sprites - theguy - 06-11-2008

You should use his shading, but make it your own way.

If you are talking about the one I edited, I know that the tail fin is wierd but I only wanted to change the shading.

Shoud it be sideways?

RE: Custom M&L SM64 Sprites - CeeY - 06-11-2008

Ok sheet update, I used Elebit's shading idea and came up with better sprites. My overworld and swimming poses sucked, so I will make an overworld that Mario, or Luigi can actually jump on, as well as the swimming pose goes, It will be done. So here is the latest updated version.[Image: amldolphinfinalredonegn1.png]

Once again, the outline isn't up to par.
The shading is getting better, but the AAing isn't being used properly.

I will do that once I'm done with all the poses. Sorry about the double-post.

RE: Custom M&L SM64 Sprites - Elebit - 06-11-2008

Much better. The jumping up poses aren't as good as the side one though.

Reference, http://www.mariowiki.com/images/d/d2/CartoonDolphins.jpg now I now how the Dolphins tail moves, from the cheesy, Super Mario Bros Super Show. And I updated the sheet, fixed the AA, and made the tail look natural.Big Grin[Image: amldolphinfinalredoneuf1.png]
