I pretty much told him he wouldn't get much help.
It's like with almost everyone. Hell, it's like this with almost any board. If you're not popular enough or whatever, you're not gonna get much help.

Popularity doesn't feature so much as being willing to integrate with the community you're asking help from.
If you sign up for an account anywhere just to ask for things, then you're a freeloader, no exceptions.

True, but that's not always correct. I've seen people ask for help who's been here since like 2007 or so. They ask for help and barely get any (Or course, those could have been lurkers). I've seen a few contributors get what they ask for in their project. Although honestly, I think a few people here and at other communities seem to only go for what they like.
