Her hair is a pretty good thing to use for a move pool, as well as her cartwheels, and her attacks could be fairly basic. But then again, who really wants "basic" in Smash?

Right. Her hair would work well with the A-attacks, and up-B is easy enough, but what else? That's really the extent of her moves.

Smash-B could be a grapple move, easy. Down B... I'm not too sure on this one. This is where I'd MAYBE fit Kiddy Kong in for a tag move, but I really do think he might work better as an FS... maybe we could borrow some moves based on references from the other party/sports games she's been in?

Ah well I figure she'd use some DKC series gimmicks. Her B-Up (instead of what your thinking) could be her launching from a Barrel Cannon. Aim in different directions. Her B Side the Steel Barrel roll, on top of a Steel Barrel she rides it over enemies just like in DKC. Stuff like that.

Holy fuck this is a brilliant idea!

Maybe down B she could spawn barrels in her place or something (most down B attacks are unconventional things like that) and you could combo them with smash B, and maybe there's a small chance to spawn a steel barrel? I dunno. Maybe her barrels can have a slight chance to contain an item.

Honestly, Ellie the Elephant could work like Kyogre as a final smash. Using her trunk to squirt water and to push enemies off the stage.

Think Dumbo ala Kingdom Hearts 1. Without the flying.

It seems odd to me that she'd have these huge objects in hammerspace. It makes sense for Link to have his weapons come from nowhere cause that's how he is in the games. Wario is a parody of that with his motorcycle. If Dixie is going to be thought of as a serious character, I don't think that she should be able to spawn giant barrels at will. Also, won't they be confused with the actual barrels that spawn and have items in them?

Well don't overdo it with the spawning of items. One Steel Barrel move is fine because its different from regular barrels. It can be smaller too. Regular B could be a super spin similar to Meta Knight's I guess.
