I never liked Geno in the first place, but I'm willing to go with Geno being a Square-Enix character, but in the game as representing Mario. He's still third party, but he's playing for Mario's team, get it? Stuff like that has happened in sports games and competitions before, right? Even though he's Square-Enix's character, he's not representative of Square-Enix, so let's just go with it. Giving up a Final Fantasy character for Geno would be retarded. It's a SMASH BROS. roster. There are going to be some pissed off people no matter what we do.
This is probably going to be the worst character argument in the whole project, so let's just say "fuck it," just this once, and break the religiously practiced rules.

I actually have to admit I don't really like Geno myself. I mean, what else did Geno do besides Super Mario RPG? Nothing of notable value, really. His popularity also still baffles me.

Wait, if we're going to have a Square Enix rep anyway, why is this an issue?
Think about it, if Square Enix was to give the 'ok' for a Black Mage character, I'm sure they'd also give it for Geno, and it'd be fine to put him under the Mario series since that's the only place he showed up.

It's for the good of the game.

Once the Roster is confirmed, work will actually start being done. This is a Roster i wouldn't complain about, its better than most of the fangames rosters I've seen. And its all gonna be equipped with a GREAT engine. I hope you guys dont get into an argument that can put the very project in jeopardy(again).

There's also the fact that there is too many Mario and Pokemon characters, I think six is overkill. Not Geno but Junior. You know maybe?

How is it 6 on those 2, but people are complaining about Mother. I see some Pokemon characters that can use erasing, but i know that's not going to happen.

I didn't see many people beging for Deoxys, he's cool and all but its too much.

They already do. Five characters was the most. I thought that was fair.
I think this would be good enough... 50 on top, six third parties SEGA, Konami, Capcom, Square, Namco, and Treasure?

He only wants the best for the game. We need to stop pre-production and go into production. I just hope a roster is confirmed soon.
