RE: What Are you playing? tis the season - DioShiba - 01-10-2016 Finished the Uncharted Collection, I enjoyed it, something different for me considering. Also been hooked on Super Stardust Ultra, n++, Trans Galactic Tournament, Smash Bros, and Undertale RE: What Are you playing? tis the season - Jermungandr - 01-10-2016 (01-09-2016, 02:26 PM)NICKtendo DS Wrote: blah blah metroid prime I didn't care for Metroid Prime 2 much either, and I didn't play nearly as far as you did. I gave it up relatively early because I got bored of its blandness. That said, Prime 3 is definitely worth a playthrough, though. If you liked the wii controls for Prime 1, you'll definitely find them better in Prime 3, as the game was designed around this style of gameplay rather than it being an afterthought in a rerelease. Prime's seems kind of sluggish in comparison, particularly when you have to turn around to face enemies coming from behind you. RE: What Are you playing? tis the season - NICKtendo DS - 01-10-2016 I gave 3 a try and it was good until I kept dying due to Phazon Overload bullshit. Those deaths feel totally random and unfair. EDIT: After a little research, it's because those damn pirates throwing Phazon grenades at me, forcing me into Hyper Mode. It's still a potential insta-death and still bullshit. I finally got the first of two turrets down and I die because some fucker threw an insta-death grenade at me. I'm done with the Metroid Prime series. I liked the first one, but 2 and 3 not so much. Give me Metroid 5. RE: What Are you playing? tis the season - Zero Kirby - 01-17-2016 Just beat the Wonderful 101 on Normal. Decided to use a walkthrough in order to find all the Wonderful Ones since I figured I'd need them on Hard. I thought it was a fantastic game. Some things are a little wonky like a couple of the GamePad segments and some parts are just unforgiving, and Luka's pretty annoying, but I'm totally willing to do a playthrough on Hard. RE: What Are you playing? tis the season - miyabi95_ - 01-19-2016 Tried playing the first Jojo fighting game...It's not that great. Each button has a really weird and long-winded attack, so I can't move very fast. The physics are also kinda floaty - which is weird, considering it's made on the same machine as Street Fighter III, one of the Capcom fighters with the most realistic physics. To be honest, I'd probably have to be an avid fan to enjoy the games. RE: What Are you playing? tis the season - Tellis - 01-19-2016 Who are you playing as, out of curiosity? RE: What Are you playing? tis the season - miyabi95_ - 01-19-2016 Midler. Mostly because I usually don't play as dudes. :p RE: What Are you playing? tis the season - puggsoy - 01-19-2016 Mainly been playing Fallout 3 and Hearthstone lately. In the former, I finished the main story and am now onto the DLC (since we got the GOTY edition). I already did one of them, did some side quests relating to Aqua Pura, and am now onto Mothership Zeta. In Hearthstone, I've been playing Arena pretty regularly ever since I finished League of Explorers. A while ago I got 7 wins for the first time, and recently I even got 9 wins! I think watching Kripparian has improved my Arena skills (that or LoE is just crazy good for Arena) RE: What Are you playing? tis the season - Arcrom - 01-22-2016 I’m trying a new city in Cities Skylines, the new expansion announcement sure made me back to this game, can’t wait to try snow theme stuff. RE: What Are you playing? tis the season - Kitsu - 01-23-2016 front mission 5 RE: What Are you playing? tis the season - psychospacecow - 01-23-2016 I remember playing Front Mission 4. That game was all kinds of difficult for me. I used action replay to get the best gear in the game and still lost some missions. It had a lot to do with limited munitions, most enemies being just as strong if not stronger than you, and them generally outnumbering you 10 to 1 in almost all situations. Been playing a ton of Fallout 4 lately. 2 characters to over 40 range. Getting the PC version also because Amazon was acting all broken so I nabbed it for JUST enough to get free shipping. RE: What Are you playing? tis the season - miyabi95_ - 01-31-2016 Don't mean to scratch at casual territory, but I'm a huge fan of Tetris. Which is funny, because I was completely anti-Tetris until recently. I'd never even skimmed the surface of a Tetris game until about 2013-ish (The only one I can remember playing before that time was Tetris 2 for the NES, which clearly isn't quite Tetris. They could have called it "Block-Bursting" and I would have played it, because there's no line-matching involved). I started playing the NES version while my dad was in the hospital and it really helped me relieve myself of stress (this was probably three years ago exactly). Since then I've delved further into the franchise by playing nearly every known title released by multiple companies (both with and without the actual license). I do have quite a few favorites, some which are pretty rare to find and others that are probably well-known (in order of release, thanks Tetris Wiki): • Tetris (NES) • Tetris 2 and Bombliss (Famicom and Super Famicom) • Super Tetris 3 (Super Famicom) • Tetris Plus 2 (Arcade) • Tetris DX (Game Boy Color) • Tetris The Grand Master (Arcade) • Tetris The Absolute The Grand Master 2 PLUS (Arcade) • Tetris Blitz (iOS, Android) • Puyo Puyo Tetris (PS3, Wii-U, 3DS, PS Vita) The one I play the most frequently would have to be Blitz, since I carry my phone with me all the time. The only games I don't own are the arcade games (of course) and Puyo Puyo Tetris - I'd really love to get my hands on it, probably for PS3 since my console is region-free. RE: What Are you playing? tis the season - Kriven - 02-01-2016 Anti-Tetris? Did you like, actively protest the playing of Tetris or something? RE: What Are you playing? tis the season - Monobrobe - 02-01-2016 Got the Jak & Daxter collection for the Vita. Starting to regret it. I usually like to think I'm pretty good at platformers, but the controls for the first game just feel weird. I mean, it says 2001, so I'm assuming that's when it came out. So I guess I can't blame it too much? So I finally get fed up with the game and decide to just watch a walkthrough of the rest of the game so I know what happens before moving on to the next game. The PS3 version runs infinitely better than the Vita version. I really should've seen that coming, but... Someone told me that it's not just me, but I'm starting to doubt that. I hate not having a PS3 sometimes. Well, here's hoping the second and third games are better. I'm getting the same vibe from this first game as I did from the first Sly game. That vibe being "This will probably be my least favorite of the series." The PS3 port isn't that spectacular either though from what I've heard. AND SPEAKING OF WHICH I've been playing through the Ratchet and Clank HD Collection on PS3 (I'm more than 75% of the way through Going Commando) as I wanted to get an idea of what to expect when I go see the movie. However, the HD Collection ports are...really lousy and feel completely rushed, as there's broken models and textures don't display properly. :/ The game's still fun as hell though and I'm kinda curious how the Future trilogy is (though I've heard there's big gameplay changes in them...?) because frankly, this series is really starting to grow on me. It's like a mascot with a gun done right. ;P |
