My only problem is that Ness' shirt looks too triangular. I know its because of the backpack but maybe you could figure out a way to fix it.

The tree looks like a warped mix between a sidescroller tree and a top-down tree.
Everything else is good.

That's the old one. Though, I was going to copy/pasta the trunk due to lazyness.
I definatly agree with you, so I'll keep it in mind when I finish the new one.
