Ok, I got it working.
Seems the main .exe will take an ice age to load, but booting the game via the patcher is instantaneous.
So do that.

yeah you're never supposed to use the main exe when playing private servers because um
the reason it's taking "ages" is because you're trying to connect to the official Korean RO server :I so it's trying to update to the current version (most if not all private servers run on an older version since kRO updates like bi-weekly)

I only did it so I can actually do a dungeon with you guys but I guess we're just grinding to 99 and not doing anything heh.
Edit: Rolled a Mage, so if for some reason we all start from scratch I have that dude on standby. No way in hell I'm gonna grind him to 70 right now though.
