RE: Pokemon VGC '10! - Cshad - 05-22-2010 http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_Box_Ruby_and_Sapphire Thats all the information you would need if you would want to make a legitimate hack of it. Probably not hard to spot, its only available in the 3rd gen, so you would have to hack a 3rd gen game for it to be harder to recognize as a hack. I wouldn't think you would use Belly Drum Linoone in VGC, that would be a bad idea >: RE: Pokemon VGC '10! - Rhyme - 05-22-2010 omg, i just saw THE best strategy EVER Pack 2 Explosion / Selfdestruct pokemon, and a ghost for your partner Explode. 2 pokemon gone. Explode. 2 pokemon gone. You win. I just ran into this and i literally shit a brick because it was so ingenious yes i accidentally posted thisi n the wrong thread. this is why i hate tabs >: RE: Pokemon VGC '10! - Cshad - 05-22-2010 (05-22-2010, 11:38 PM)Rhymey Wrote: omg, i just saw THE best strategy EVER It seems to be the right thread Also this strategy loses against Pokemon that can kill the exploders before they blow up, and opposing Ghost/Steel Pokemon, as well as Protect. I don't think there is a single ghost Pokemon that can learn Feint, so you'll have a hard time breaking through that. Whats ingenious is the guy who ran Infernape with a Focus Sash and Feint to break through Protects, switch out, then come back in to kill opposing Pokemon with Blaze boosted STAB Heat Waves. RE: Pokemon VGC '10! - Rhyme - 05-23-2010 i might actually run that infernape, now that you mention it. though i must admit i'm quite scared of the kyogres everyone uses RE: Pokemon VGC '10! - -Dark- - 05-23-2010 (05-22-2010, 11:38 PM)Rhymey Wrote: omg, i just saw THE best strategy EVER This sounds amazing. Metagross would make a great exploder with a gengar or someone by its side. 252 speed and attack metagross with a choice scarf could shit all over any team except ghost types :< but thats when speedy gengar comes in with focus blast to take out rock/steel types and shadow ball for ghosts idk im just brainstorming but this sounds awesome RE: Pokemon VGC '10! - JarJar - 05-23-2010 only sableye can learn feint by breeding in hgss. RE: Pokemon VGC '10! - Rosencrantz - 05-23-2010 so then what kind of strategies can I pull off with a Dragon-Dancing Kingdra? Seriously; I don't know what I can do with it, who to pair it with, etc. I want to give it Ice Beam to knock out most of the other non-legendary dragons and Rayquaza (since, you know, Dragonite/Salamence/Flygon/Garchomp all take 4x damage from it), and then of course give it its STABs but I know Gyarados will wreck it, along with Dialga, and every other pokemon that has some sort of Dragon-type move (like Lucario) but idk what else I should pair it with. I have, literally, no strategy here :C edit: oh, right, and I was told to use Substitute, too edit2: oh, whoops, just realized I'm aiming for a SPECIAL sweeper, not a physical sweeper, ahahaha. Guess I'm cutting out the Dragon Dance RE: Pokemon VGC '10! - GrooveMan.exe - 05-23-2010 Well, since there's going to be Rain effects everywhere, you could just rely on Swift Swim to get you through. I think Kingdra might learn regular Agility anyway. RE: Pokemon VGC '10! - Rosencrantz - 05-23-2010 yep, level 23 I think I was going to make it a swift swimmer anyway, but then there's the deal with Rayquaza and Airlock. But seeing as how Kyogre's being favored, then welp~ RE: Pokemon VGC '10! - Cshad - 05-23-2010 (05-23-2010, 02:29 PM)oB2Ko Mario Wrote: so then I wouldn't use a Pokemon that, in order to use properly, has to use a set up move, you wont have time with all the Legendaries running around, use Choice Specs and Have Kyogre as a partner. Swift Swim Boost and a 1.5 special attack bonus. I'd also suggest using another weather abuser, as relying on a strategy that is so easily shut down is going to be a major problem. Also Gyarados's only Dragon Attack iirc is Outrage, which is balls in doubles because it randomly selects a target. If you are worried about Dialga and other Pokemon like him run a lead set of Pokemon that use moves like Low Kick and Fake Out, just find a way to stop him. He'll also almost always be using Trick Room (some Palkia use it as well but idk), if that helps. Whoop, I can't believe I didn't think of Kyogre :c but who else should I use as a weather abuser? and I'm liking how Kyogre's moveset looks; it should do wonders with my Kingdra (05-23-2010, 05:14 PM)Gabe Wrote: Also Gyarados's only Dragon Attack iirc is Outrage, which is balls in doubles because it randomly selects a target. Among these include (besides Outrage) Dragon Rage, Twister, and Dragon Pulse I could have sworn it also knew Dragon Breath for some reason, ahaha RE: Pokemon VGC '10! - Cshad - 05-23-2010 Dragon Rage has set damage and Twister (as well as Dragon Pulse) work off of his weaker attack stat. The only reason you would see Gyarados anyways would be because it has another Intimidate user as its partner, putting both other oppositions Pokemon as -2 attack. Gyarados's special attack sucks >: Abomasnow @ Focus Sash Ability: Snow Warning Nature: Quiet or Modest 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 6 SpD - Blizzard - Protect - Grass Knot/Energy Ball - Ice Shard + Mewtwo @ Life Orb / Expert Belt Ability: Pressure Nature: Timid / Naive / Hasty EVs: 4 Attack / 252 Sp. Attack / 252 Speed - Blizzard - Thunder - Aura Sphere / Fire Blast - Taunt / Self Destruct You should use these guys. http://skarmbliss.com/mewtwo2010sweeper.html http://skarmbliss.com/abomasnow2010.html Explanations on the sets there~ RE: Pokemon VGC '10! - GrooveMan.exe - 05-23-2010 Maaan, you're making this start to sound like effort. RE: Pokemon VGC '10! - Rhyme - 05-23-2010 so it seems me and gabe are the only ones from tSR reaching for hawaii, at a minimum. and yeah thats the Abomasnow/Mewtwo combo i said everyone and their mothers going to be leading with. So pack a Rayquaza (negates weather) or something to counter them both. RE: Pokemon VGC '10! - water dog - 05-23-2010 i would aim for hawaii but im not a competitive tier retard at least the TCG has room for rogues |
