RE: Earthbound or Chrono Trigger? - SKELTON S. SKELETON - 07-24-2010 imo, both of them are really great games and you shouldn't miss out on either of them. That's something that in Chrono Trigger i wouldn't be necessarily excited in.One of the reasons people like Chrono Trigger is that to get the true ending, you have to bet the game like four or five times. In other words, yes, you have to replay it if you want to truly complete the game. (07-24-2010, 07:02 AM)Diogalesu Wrote:You've literally never played final fantasy 6 before, have you? It's by far the best 2D FF game. In other words, you don't know what you're talking about because that doesn't describe ff6 at all.(07-23-2010, 10:04 PM)Vipershark Wrote:(07-23-2010, 09:14 PM)Diogalesu Wrote: I would play earthbound any day over the vast majority of RPG's there are (aside pokemon) RE: Earthbound or Chrono Trigger? - Cobalt Blue - 07-24-2010 the whole concept gets old after 4, if you have played all 4 games VS. FF6 is all nice and all, but it IS MORE OF THE SAME. oh and CT's has not "true ending", but multiple endings depending on what you do or dont do in the game. after beating the game once, you're allowed to start a new game and get all sorts of alternate endings for teh sake of doing so RE: Earthbound or Chrono Trigger? - JackMan - 07-24-2010 The one true ending is Marle and Chrono's wedding, right? Or am I mistaken.. I know in the playstation/DS ports there's a whole bundle of new endings, like evil Chrono and stuff. RE: Earthbound or Chrono Trigger? - TomGuycott - 07-24-2010 Everyone knows the TRUE ending is the one where Marle and Lucca go through all the male supporting cast and rate their sex appeal, and Chrono actually talks. Either that, or that awesome ending where Frog goes after Magus. But you're still missing the point here: (07-24-2010, 07:30 AM)Francisco Cifuentes Wrote: legend of mana~ FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF---i love that game to death. It had a big, giant freakin monster on the boxart, is what i remember. Legend of something. RE: Earthbound or Chrono Trigger? - Gors - 07-25-2010 I remember playing both games (CT and EB) before, and I can say that they're good games but CT has kicked my butt so many times I can't even enjoy it anymore. I can't beat it no matter what I do and it just increased my overall RPG hate. Don't get me wrong, CT is a great game but IT'S NOT FOR ME. on the other side, EB was easier (by easier, I don't actually mean weak enemies; the game flowed naturally and in a good pace overall) and it's the only RPG I completed in all my life (along with its prequel and sequel). I can say that the setting helped me to go further in the game; I enjoyed beating hippies and cops while eating hamburgers you got from trash cans. So, it'll depend on how you like your RPG. If you like serious stuff, then grab CT. If you like something simpler, go for EB. Again, the whole concept got old during 5-6. Admittingly however, I was somewhat interested in FF7 when I first heard of it, but that ended up being an overhyped game with the same gameplay and concept, everything was just modernized a bit. FF11, FF12, and FF14 aside, all of them are turn-based RPGs. It's sort of a given that they'd all play similarly. not to mention that 6 isn't the same premise so um what??????????? |
