RE: floppy green hat guy - Chris2Balls [:B] - 03-01-2011 ZLADE what i'm saying is that... you need a perspecrive to pull it off. RE: floppy green hat guy - Phantom Killah - 03-04-2011 more progress! not quite sure how I'm gonna do this explosiony thing wit da bomb RE: floppy green hat guy - Previous - 03-05-2011 I don't really like the shading on that bomb. It might look better if you made it look 'shiny'. RE: floppy green hat guy - Phantom Killah - 03-07-2011 stand[v] walk [v] jump [v] crouch[v] crawl[] hurt[v] defeated[v] got item! Though I do like the bomb! The effects however, seem unnatural. RE: floppy green hat guy - Gors - 03-17-2011 yeah, explosions aren't spiked rings that flash and grow. try looking for references. RE: floppy green hat guy - Rosencrantz - 03-18-2011 Well spiked rings might be a cool stylistic way for making an explosion, but the main problem is the speed of the explosion. When things blow up, it's spontaneous. The ring should be at its maximum size - or at the very least close to its maximum size - in one frame. The next frames should then be fallout. Remember: explosions are forceful. When you make something become huge in a small range of time, it conveys a feel of force in the piece. Try to emulate this as best as you can :> But yeah, look into other conventions besides the rings. A better flame cloud will make a better feel for the explosion~ RE: floppy green hat guy - Phantom Killah - 03-18-2011 The spiked rings thing was actually inspired by the explosions in a Link to the Past, but I don't like the way it looks and I'll definitely redo it. Thanks for the criticisms RE: floppy green hat guy - Garamonde - 03-18-2011 Actually, those spike ring explosions honestly remind me of Super Mario Advance. Anyone else agree? EDIT: Actually, I know they remind me of something but I don't know what. Might have been LttP, but I'm not sure. Might not have been SMA... EDIT 2: Nevermind, it probably wasn't SMA, thought it was. But I think I agree about the explosion looking slightly strange. RE: floppy green hat guy - Phantom Killah - 03-21-2011 RE: floppy green hat guy - Phantom Killah - 03-21-2011 Okay, Taking a break from the Zedla stuff to make myself as a Black/White PKmon trainer For reference, I look like this: http://i.imgur.com/jXG3r.jpg RE: floppy green hat guy - Garamonde - 03-21-2011 (03-21-2011, 09:35 PM)Phantom Kojjiro Wrote: Okay, Taking a break from the Zedla stuff to make myself as a Black/White PKmon trainer Looking good! I like the face you're making in that picture. RE: PKMN Trainer BTD/ floppy green hat guy - Alpha Six - 03-21-2011 Head is too long, his right arm is noodly-looking, and overall his arms look too short. |
