RE: Guitar hero is officially dead - StarSock64 - 02-13-2011 Totally going to continue this pointlessly long string of arguments because I can't help myself and because I feel some stupid counterarguments coming on Let me put it in the simplest terms Guitar Hero: You follow the things on the screen and press buttons to test your timing and then you get a score. It's like fast-paced simon says. Guitars: You make music, either by making your own or by ear/sheet music. Music involves timing but it isn't a test of timing, the point is to make music. You don't make music in Guitar Hero, it just plays in the background. And you can get "scored" by critics or a teacher but there's no numerical value to compare your results, your future results and your friends' results. Plus there's no pretty colorful little things going up on a screen for you to follow. Their goals and sources of enjoyment are entirely different and therefore THEY ARE NOT SUBSTITUTES. If you don't believe me think about DDR. The goals and source of enjoyment of DDR comes from the scores and test of timing and pressing the buttons in the pads, you're not seriously trying to dance. At least I sure hope you're not. RE: Guitar hero is officially dead - GaryCXJk - 02-13-2011 Hmmm.... So that's why my friends all stopped and stared at me when I started to bounce around on the floor in a square. |
