RE: Secret of Mana - Deathbringer - 08-28-2011 If you want sprites of the other two shrunk without the shadows, I can get them for you. RE: Secret of Mana - Davy Jones - 08-28-2011 I didn't get them on purpose, because Randi is the only character who melts with his shadow. In comparison to him, Purim and Popoie have solid outlines and are easy to separate from their shadows. It's finished: http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/4204/miscj.png I think I'm done with this project. RE: Secret of Mana - Tropicon - 08-28-2011 Having trouble with the knock-back sequence . I think I got them all but the numbers don't equal and that makes me suspicious. They don't all show up in one animation either. You'll get about 6 frames or so each time you get hit and you'll have to go back for the others. Is it random? RE: Secret of Mana - Ton - 08-28-2011 Do we need all of the frames? It seems like just one would be enough... Unless they're stored in the data as separate sprites. RE: Secret of Mana - Tropicon - 08-28-2011 That's the thing, I don't know how they're stored. They could be separate sprites or I could just be looking at a calculation between the character and it's shadow. They don't get shadows in ghost form. I wanted to rip each frame in case somebody intended to make animations or whatever, but I'm not doing this in every possible case. If I did that each frame of ghost animation would have to be displayed three times, one without the reaper and two with each of the reapers frames. RE: Secret of Mana - Davy Jones - 08-29-2011 The sheet with the Mana Spirits was uploaded, but you overlooked the updates for the existing sheets: (08-26-2011, 12:28 PM)Davy Jones Wrote: Updates This one too: http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/4204/miscj.png And this sheet can be deleted, everything on it is already on the Ring Menu sheet. http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/secretmana/sheet/31604 @Tropicon: Shadows and sprites are two different units in the game, sometimes you have animations where the position of the shadow never changes (walking, running, etc.) and sometimes it gets randomized a little bit (jumping/jump attacking/knock-back, etc.). I would just attach the unique sprites in order + the separate shadow with a little note ("Shadow position varies"). RE: Secret of Mana - Cyrus Annihilator - 08-29-2011 I must say that you guys are doing an excellent work! Please continue and "finish" this game! Seens a very good game, I hope to find some time to play it. RE: Secret of Mana - Ton - 08-29-2011 Got em all. RE: Secret of Mana - Tropicon - 08-29-2011 @Davy Jones, Great. That'll be a huge time saver. RE: Secret of Mana - Davy Jones - 08-29-2011 @Tonberry2k: That's fine =) @Tropicon: To make it even easier, you can use this specific cheat: cheatzilla Wrote:01D652:45Let Randi and Popoie use the whip on enemies, that's all. Edit: oh yeah, I will rip Popoie's run & walk animation + all of her claw attack frames. I just want to see how far I can get. Edit2: Also very good: shrines.rpgclassics Wrote:Weapon Level ModifiersSource: http://shrines.rpgclassics.com/snes/som/cheats.shtml RE: Secret of Mana - Davy Jones - 08-29-2011 I can really recommend to do the claw first, first it's an invisible weapon and second it has already many frames from other weapons in it. http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/6906/theclaw.png Usually, each row has the same number of frames, but as you can see at weapon level 2, there are exceptions. RE: Secret of Mana - Tropicon - 08-29-2011 That will speed things up. I've found that of the three dodge moves, a block, a parry, and a back flip, only the block will show up in north/south facing positions. As for the glove, Purim has a punch and a kick when striking at nothing but air and I know just a regular hit can bring on a grappling move but I don't know exactly how to trigger it. RE: Secret of Mana - Davy Jones - 08-30-2011 Oh yeah, the grappling will give me nightmares. I remember that it was really random to get this move to work. Anyway, progress on Popoie with the claw: http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/8766/theclaw2.png Weapon Level 6 is just a Roundhouse kick through the whole area and Level 7 & 8 are Street Fighter references (Ryu's Ha-Do-Ken & Chun Li's Lightning Legs). RE: Secret of Mana - HandToeKnee - 08-30-2011 HOLY CRAP!!! You're doing a lot better than I am, mate. I really hate this game right now . I mean, I've been sprite ripping for ages but this game is REALLY testing my patience! I'm sorry to let you down like this but I've had enough so I'm gonna get back to ripping KILLER INSTINCT 2 instead. Tonberry2k is probably wondering what the hell I'm messing about at, it's been awhile since I showed my face on his ripping project . Besides, you'll probably finish all 3 characters before I can even finish 1 of them RE: Secret of Mana - Davy Jones - 08-30-2011 That's okay, because you will find nothing harder on the SNES than these three characters. I will focus on the weapon levels for the claw with walking, running, charging and regular attacking. Then I will submit that, everything more would blow up the sheet to Random Talking Bush sizes. |
