RE: Save the Internet: The SOPA/PIPA thread. - Devicho - 01-19-2012 It's less "shucks gee-willikers, I can't download porn now" and more "shucks gee-willikers, even the slightest bit of copyright infringement, real or not and also something that can either come from the site itself or from a simple user post could get a website in legal trouble or even shut down because the RIAA/MPAA can't have enough money". RE: Save the Internet: The SOPA/PIPA thread. - Gwen - 01-19-2012 Lol, porn downloading? Convincing argument. And according to what you said, they're completely stopping the physical format, which is all I'm getting at. For what it matters, it's the fact that we're giving you facts on the bill and you slant them off as nothing, when they're pretty big somethings that irritates me. It's really not up to me if you want to rally behind the cause, but you should at least be concerned... Point of the matter is that's a low blow and one without any validity to the argument. I'll admit Kyle and I had good laughs at the Big Lebowski Porn Parody, boom, it was hilariously well written. RE: Save the Internet: The SOPA/PIPA thread. - Kriven - 01-19-2012 Quote:doesn't mean you need to call me out on my own damn opinion. Then why on Earth were you attempting to shove it down everybody's throat? You don't want your opinion judged? Don't mention it. Deal with it. I just said that I was irritated, and I started getting shit for it. If I wouldn't have been come at I wouldn't go after anyone else. I'm not here to start shit just for the fact of starting it And if the porn isn't a convincing argument, don't expect the manga one to hold any weight at all. Sure, they stop the magazine, not the actual graphic novels. I'm done with this Dylan. If you want to hold some sort of childish grudge against me, go ahead. EDIT: And all that Suicide Girls collection, and the Hentai collection. Oh yea. Try to pass it off there big boy, I realize more than you think RE: Save the Internet: The SOPA/PIPA thread. - Kriven - 01-19-2012 Quote:All I know is this black out shit needs to stop. Seriously getting irritating "All I know is, you all need to stop having opinions that I don't agree with and take it all up the ass." Sounds a lot like your opening statement was "coming at" everyone who supported not being sodomized by corporate dictators. RE: Save the Internet: The SOPA/PIPA thread. - Gwen - 01-19-2012 WHAT CHILDISH GRUDGE? I'm giving you valid points, you used porn as a "lollookatbastard" and to dismiss the topic. Also, you don't see me calling you by your name here, I was thinking about letting people know it, but you've obviously done that for me. The Manga is a valid argument, as I'm only talking about the magazine itself, not their other manga products. EDIT: Wooo, you're an ass Chibi. Okay guys, since he feels the need to bring personal stuff out on me, yeah I have the full collection of one Suicide Girls Model, and a porn folder. Class act Chibi, class. You know, this really hurts my feelings that you need to invade on my privacy and tell a lot of my friends here, that's not really up to you and is extremely rude. You can't download your porn. My valid point. Both downloads. Boom. Tell me how I'm not connecting it to yours. Also Kriven, I had no intention on calling ANYBODY out on that. I just wanted to point out one thing that I didn't like about this. The fact that you take it that way is all up to you, not my problem -Signed Adam. Because my name is a huge secret~ RE: Save the Internet: The SOPA/PIPA thread. - Altrez - 01-19-2012 Don't trade your freedom for security. That's the point, I think. They like to use threats like a war on terror, or in this case online piracy to be the big enemy they have to fight against, so they can use it as an excuse to take away your liberties. They might market it as a hollywood vs silicon valley thing, but the american people and people around the world will be in the middle getting stiffed as a result. RE: Save the Internet: The SOPA/PIPA thread. - Kriven - 01-19-2012 Seriously, shut up about porn. Provided the porn isn't being copied into other outlets, or isn't copyrighted in the first place, SOPA is going to leave all of that nonsense alone. The same can be said for manga subscriptions. Holy fuck you guys. Chibi Specific: That's basically exactly what you said. When you tell people to stop protesting because I guess it got in your way or whatever, you're telling them to lie down and take whatever legislation the supposedly democratic society wants to shove into their ass. It's almost as if you've resigned yourself to a dictatorship and just want to shovel along obliviously so long as you don't get muscled around. I said I wanted it to end. As in soon. They proved the point. There you go. But I'm sure you know what I'm saying better than I myself do huh? I'm so glad I have people like you guys around to help me out RE: Save the Internet: The SOPA/PIPA thread. - Gwen - 01-19-2012 (01-19-2012, 07:53 PM)Kriven Wrote: Seriously, shut up about porn. Holy fuck you guys.Sorry, I'll take it to PM, I'm not trying to change topics, as I feel strongly about the topic, but I just feel he really had the right disclosing personal information about me. Also Adam, that's not how it works, and the fact that I was talking about the magazine strictly meant I was trying to stay on the topic of the magazine switching to digital. But pretty much what Kriven said. RE: Save the Internet: The SOPA/PIPA thread. - tsr moderation staff - 01-19-2012 (01-19-2012, 07:50 PM)Chibi Wrote: I can't download manga. I wouldn't have gone to such a degree if I wasn't sick of everything else I have to put up with from his end. You only see this one story. I have a lot of other stuff. I'm a douchebag, sure, I guess. Basically, treat others the way you want to be treated, I lived by it and did a whole lot of what I wanted. RE: Save the Internet: The SOPA/PIPA thread. - Devicho - 01-19-2012 So uh, Adam, if we could not go about disclosing of peoples personal business in a public place, that'd be pretty great! I'll give you a verbal warning for now. Also, get the protests over with? That's not quite how it works. The protests against SOPA will end when SOPA and its kin are dead in the water. In the meantime, you might not be able to read Wikipedia for a day. I'd take that over having the entire internet censored, because one is a mild inconvenience and one just straight-up changes the internet. |
