It's pretty much useless for Sonic to have a car. He could just run through the track, right? :p

does this answer your question

The "Sonic's in a car how dare he follow rules" complaint doesn't even make sense anymore since he certainly can't fly or swim.

NERD!

...Daytona USA!

What'd you think I was talking about when I said "The Hornet"?

I want that car in, but he was left out of the previous game because the developer was considering a "Realistic" Sega racing cross-over (IE probably stuff like Daytona USA, Outrun, Sega Rally, and Hang-On) that hasn't materialized, and the whole boat+plane+ADVENTURE MODE(?) thing isn't that friendly to him unless they go the Back to the Future: Part II route.

Imagine Sonic would run in a kart race and somebody rams him from the side or behind.

Quote: he says, citing the expense of modelling three separate vehicles for each of 27 characters,

Taken from the link in Clutch's post.

The first game had 22 Sega characters counting Ryo-F and Metal Sonic, and 24 characters on the 360, which had the most exclusive racers. Assuming all those characters remain, that means we're seeing three new characters on the disc. That's kind of a measly addition to a celebratory mascot game, but regardless, we now have some idea of just how tight the roster will be.

Who do you think Sega is pushing for the three new characters?

Edit:

There's one.

Quote:The other confirmed newbie is Golden Axe's Gilius Thunderhead.

And two. But the math still leaves for one new character.

I think you could count out both 360 exclusives, since it would be kinda weird if they were being specific about the 360 version here. And wow, Adventure Mode is a huge incentive for me to buy this! I hope it's as fun as it sounds.

RE: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - TGE - 05-04-2012

I hope they make drift boosting a little less necessary to win, because it was actually damn annoying to drift all the time. And I wish they make more unlockable songs like there was no unlockable Crush 40 song at all. I'm a Sonic fan but I think Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing sucked. I'm looking forward to what this game brings up, if it sucks as good as the first one, they could better stop with making racing games.

RE: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - Mutsukki - 05-04-2012

I'm pretty sure drifting is a necessity to win any racing game on a more "high-level" difficulty, even on Mario Kart. I actually didn't remember this, but on the SNES one, you pretty much have to know how to drift correctly or you'll suck forever.

RE: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - TGE - 05-04-2012

It doesn't necessarily have to be drifting, they could have though something more creative because it's getting way overused. It's almost like "GOTTA DRIFT TO WIN" which is bullshit. I still prefer the style that Mario Kart Double Dash used. It was one of the best games I played and it should deserve to be atleast in the top 3 of best racing games of all times.
With that said, I hope Shadow isn't that overpowered anymore like he was in the first game. His stats were just overpowered and he could make tricks faster then anyone.

Toe Jam & Earl.

RE: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - Gaia - 05-04-2012

Since Earl was in the last game, there is a chance that he may tag Toejam along for the ride. There's also a low chance Earthworm Jim appeared since he was around during the genesis days, starred in more than one game and had his own show.

RE: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - Cobalt Blue - 05-04-2012

if that was the case, there are more chances to get bayonetta before earthwork jim.

RE: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - Kriven - 05-04-2012

And Earl wasn't anywhere near the last Racing.

Gameexplorer: Drifting is what made it fun, and you can't expect to win a Double Dash without drifting either.

Drifting good. Drifting mechanics in Sega Racing good.

RE: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - TGE - 05-04-2012

I didn't like how the drift worked. In DD you would actually just be drifting around the corners. In Sega Racing, you drift while driving straight.... And also, the given items in the game sucked and were almost of no use. The allstar move was just keep it fun for younger kids/bad players. It's kinda a bad ripoff.

welp.

Sadly I don't fully recognize the entire roster from the last game. Gonna Puke

But each character does have a 3,721 to 1 chance of getting in, as this is up for speculation of course.
