RE: Devil May Cry bores me... - Goemar - 10-25-2012 I've never known anyone judge a game so much from trailers before. It's an action game, the trailers are going to show action, one liners and big bosses. Seriously wait for the game to come out before writing out a 36 page document of why DmC sucks and complaining about every possible thing... And then write it, and I'll gladly ignore it and enjoy the game (if it's good) anyway. Seriously we get it, you don't like DmC, you don't need to keep justifying it. RE: Devil May Cry bores me... - NICKtendo DS - 10-25-2012 Wait, is this directed at me? I was told to chill out, so I chilled out! I simply made a comment about how awesome that particular cutscene was from DMC3 as a reaction to what is said about the cutscene from DmC. You get it? Fine. I stopped ranting about Dante's design and didn't bring it up. I was trying to add something to the discussion I thought was okay, and here I am getting stabbed at again. I understand that what I said before was a little overdramatic and that I would be bood for that. I thought I made sense, apparently I didn't. I accept that. But isn't it my right to express my opinion (well, without leaving scars)? If these trailers send me the wrong message, it's the devs' loss, not mine. I agree the game might be good, who knows? Maybe I'd never know, because there are a few things that turn me off. Want me off this topic? Anyone, just say the word and I will. Perhaps you don't need to, because I feel I can't make a single comment without someone jumping on my back. RE: Devil May Cry bores me... - Gwen - 10-25-2012 Pretty sure that was directed at Nier. Don't you fret my little Neko. RE: Devil May Cry bores me... - Goemar - 10-25-2012 Yeah was at Neir, sorry. RE: Devil May Cry bores me... - PrettyNier - 10-26-2012 nier, not neir. thats v important Quote:I've never known anyone judge a game so much from trailers before.that particular exchange was from a cutscene actually, not a trailer. Quote:Seriously we get it, you don't like DmC, you don't need to keep justifying it.if you would stop making dumb as oatmeal points and make good points i wouldnt have to keep arguing with you gosh im sorry im posting while drunk thats probably a bad idea lol RE: Devil May Cry bores me... - Goemar - 10-26-2012 Sorry Neir RE: Devil May Cry bores me... - Gors - 10-26-2012 goemar, stop acting out, ok. The dude's name is Nier, he made it quite clear and this just worsens the case. Please continue the good discussion. RE: Devil May Cry bores me... - Goemar - 10-26-2012 That was actually accidental, ha man made me look like an ass. So yeah, Nier. I would edit it but well, then it would make no sense and mistakes which make yourself look like an utter ass are quite amusing in their own way. So, my bad. Anyway, I'm looking forward to this still. I'm not sure if I'll pick it up day one mind (then again, it is coming before most of the 2013/delayed 2012 games). I just hope Capcom pushes it. Regardless of what people thought of Enslaved, Namco let that game die. DmC is a bigger name, and a Capcom property, so I'm assuming we'll have a good advertising campaign (though Capcom are well, not making the best choices lately) - but early 2013 is looking INCREDIBLY busy at the moment (if nothing is pushed back further). I mean Metal Gear Rising is just round the corner from this (28th February) and THAT is some serious competition in the same ball park. God of War Ascension (15th March) being close by also can't be a good thing for DmC (well for PS3 sales of DmC anyway). In all honesty a lot of good games are coming in spring 2013: Dead Space 3, Tomb Raider, The Last of Us are all in Q1 2013. I think DmC is going to have to review incredibly well to turn the heads of those who have already dismissed it. 'Wannabe Edgy'? What the hell does that even mean? Since when was edgy anything to be taken seriously? Travis Touchdown can be all these things and Dante can't why? Dante was always seen as the wild child while Virgil was always calm cool and collected. Old Dante was bad ass gentleman, new Dante is just a cut throat young post-internet guy who doesn't like the world works and is doing whatever he can to undo what he see's as not the way the world should work. I don't want to read this entire thread because it's probably filled with people who still think the current DMC Dante looks like old Director who got fired. I'm only here to tell Woppet and people who share this opinion of 'Swearing for the sake of swearing' (Which I don't get, since when did everyone started wearing monocles and top hats because that's what comes to mind to me when young people claim that kind of stuff) became a not fun thing? Someone made a Duke Nukem comparison Duke Nukem Forever could have been a fun game, and it's not it's just another FPS that I don't want to play. Not an action brawler type game where a half demon gets to make one liners and put bullets and swords in things with a Dynamic combo system. For the record someone asked why the guns were important or incorporated in combat: You can improve your weapons in DMC games to make projectiles do more damage as the game progresses learning how to gun and slash is integral in handling mid-end game DMC enemies. I like the redesigned redesign, I like this snippy swearing Dante, all I need now is for Dante to be implied that he get's girls regularly and I think we have some 90's action hero dish ready to serve. What I don't like is Vergil and Dante getting a long so well I better get some sibling rivalry footage soon or in the next game. wallsoftexts.jpg RE: Devil May Cry bores me... - Kriven - 10-26-2012 (10-26-2012, 12:04 PM)Omegajak Wrote: Travis Touchdown can be all these things and Dante can't why? RE: Devil May Cry bores me... - Goemar - 10-26-2012 Swearing for the sake of swearing does annoy me. Hell I think most stand up comedians do it too much now days. Maybe hearing 2 men telling each other to F themselves is fun to some but it does seem to be getting rather ridiculous now days. I think new Dante (along with DMC3 young Dante) are cocky enough to make it bearable, but well, I'm hoping it's just during frontations with bosses and not ALL the time. I think you missed the joking, but jarred truth, that just because you think you are above swearing doesn't mean a lot of people don't find it entertaining. Pretentiousness is what I was getting at. RE: Devil May Cry bores me... - Woppet* - 10-26-2012 Giraffe why did you target me of all the people in the thread? I actually think the game looks fun. Woppet, shut your GAWDDamn mouth, you know I love you to pieces but despite that love, and overall respect for most things you say and do you still said: (10-21-2012, 03:58 PM)Woppet* Wrote: I think it looks kinda sketchy and wannabe 'edgy' but I'll pick it up when the price drops just because I like everything else from Ninja Theory. It's like I've been saying for a while now: "Everyone kinda woke up past 13-14 or whatever age and said: "HEY too many people like Final Fantasy 7 so I'm gonna stop liking it, or I claim that the masses aren't correct in clamouring to it, it's not like it changed anything significant for Final Fantasy in the Western world or anything!" Too many people I find online kind of get a stick up their butt about things they like or use to like and suddenly think that not liking, or stop liking something makes them more 'tasteful'. Wow, way to be grown up not liking something because you as child like it. Oh wait, it's a videogame one of the least things in the world that could be looked at as a medium where that kind of opinion would actually matters. I get that Videogames deserve to be treated like a higher form of art, but not at the cost of its roots. To further a point: Dante was always a asshat towards demons who demanded respect simply because they are powerful, or old, or both. Just because he's no longer some sort of lone anime hero who can just smile and put a bullet in your face doesn't make the current Dante any less than what he was: A child with a lot of power who can stick it to all the old fogey who think they can't be beaten or told to for a lack of a better phrase?: "FUCK YOU!" 'Wannabe edgy' isn't a thing, and I called you out on it like a good friend should. Don't worry about it though, I only did it because everyone else with an opinion I think holds less weight to me than yours needed me to point a finger. It means I respect you more than anyone else, and I don't intend to let this opinion slide anymore unchallenged, especially from my friends. Also we should race to see who can beat the game first on release day. RE: Devil May Cry bores me... - PrettyNier - 10-26-2012 Quote:'Wannabe edgy' isn't a thing, yeah, it really really is, sorry |
