RE: Super Mario 3, re-edited. - Star - 12-10-2012 This topic makes me smile. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing you branch out even more. RE: Super Mario 3, re-edited. - Doc Melonhead - 12-17-2012 The sheet is nearly completed in terms of actions; all that's left were the throwing animations. Here's a remade Bowser shell to tie you over. RE: Super Mario 3, revamped and extended - Ton - 12-19-2012 A great start, but the shell itself looks too smooth. It needs the plates. Also, if you're trying to modernize Bowser, his side-facing SMB3 sprites have a bit of a mullet. I think it should be trimmed a bit in a modern-style sprite. The spikes need to be more exaggerated as to cover the plain shell, and the rim of the shell (the white seal) should be thicker, it could also use a bit of smoothing with anti ailising. The bottom part also needn't to be cut off there, it'd look odd used anywhere besides the ground with that cut off. I like where this is going, you're moving from edits to nice custom stuff. RE: Super Mario 3, revamped and extended - Doc Melonhead - 12-22-2012 Thanks for the latest critique. Better, or the Spikes were too thick? Speaking of Edits: Yeah, SMW Yoshi and Koopa troopa reshaded/modified for SMB3. RE: Super Mario 3, revamped and extended - Doc Melonhead - 12-23-2012 Sorry for double post but: How was it? RE: Super Mario 3, revamped and extended - OverlordNext - 12-24-2012 Can't you embed the original size instead of these downsized versions? Having to click them to be able to see them completely voids the point of embedding images... RE: Super Mario 3, revamped and extended - Doc Melonhead - 12-24-2012 I could, but that would make it have anti-aliasing on certain computers. RE: Super Mario 3, revamped and extended - Doc Melonhead - 01-02-2013 Before I finish the Sheet, I would like to see what you guys prefer for Bowser's Palette. RE: Super Mario 3, revamped and extended - Previous - 01-02-2013 I'g go for one or four, but with more contrast. Considering you're using black outlines, I'd say the dark shades should be darker in general. You also use a bunch of probably unnecessary colours, like the brightest green only used on the shell, the light blue used to shade the shell "brim" could be replaced with the gray from the handcuffs, the brightest skin tone is almost white and could probably be replaced, too. I find it hard to make out the light source, is it above, top-right, something? It's mostly inconsistend when you look at the shell and it's "brim" part. RE: Super Mario 3, revamped and extended - Doc Melonhead - 01-03-2013 It could be argued that the light source could be the Fault of SMAS art Staff. But anyways, the sprite sheet Construction can now begin. RE: Super Mario 3, revamped and extended - Doc Melonhead - 01-03-2013 And it's now complete: RE: Super Mario 3, revamped and extended - Ton - 01-03-2013 Love it! Can I put it up? RE: Super Mario 3, revamped and extended - Bombshell93 - 01-03-2013 beautiful but I think the profiles shading is a bit off, it looks like he has banana arms and his hair and eye brows done look so much shaded as having scribbley bits, maybe make them a bit more solid. That was a slight edit of Bowser letter sprite from SMAS/SMA4. So once again, it's mostly the fault of Nintendo's Art staff. |
