When the source is "an insider who posted online" but doesn't say where... well, seems a bit phoney to me.
A Smash 4 rumour is about s exciting as a Fifa 2014 rumour. Of course there's going to be another one...

As much as I would want Mega Man or someone like that, it is very unlikely that there will be another third-party character.
It will be a while before SSB4 comes out, and fans are expecting many new characters. People I'm expecting:
Samurai Goroh: After being an assist trophy in Brawl, I've been amazed by this guy. And F-Zero needs another character. We can't keep Falcon Punching everyone.
King K. Rool: The long-awaited antagonist from Donkey Kong. Every major series has the antagonist, but not DK.
Mewtwo: Many a fan were at dismay when they found out that he wasn't returning for Brawl. Also, there has been many arguments that SSB needs a legendary. Also, Lucario won't be returning. If they were going to replace him, it would be with a more recent Pokemon.
