I have a feeling that the dsi will end any real homebrew(and pirating) on the ds. Now that they have internal storage they can update the firmware to counteract any attempts at hacking the ds for development or pirating...

it saddens me so.

It has an SD card port though - that's just asking for trouble. There will always be a way, it's not like the PSP's firmware updates have stopped it for very long.

I must say that Nintendo has got me VERY impressed with the Wii line-up. Punch Out, Sin and Punishment 2 (woooooooo) and Monster Hunter 3 are all telling me it's worth getting a Wii here instead of just playing the family one back at home "home."

Guess people wanting to import their old monsters for Diamond & Pearl might be screwed over by this, not to mention the other games that give bonuses for having certain GBA games in the slot (Canvas Curse, Feel the Magic, etc). It doesn't really seem like the guys at Nintendo put much thought into the DSi in general.

But hey, Punch-Out!

Wow, I wonder why none of these games appeared at E3...

Just stop and think for a second about how the people in the room would have actually talked about the DSi.

"Ok guys, let's make a new DS."
"It should be exactly the same as the old one."
"Genius! Put it on shelves by Christmas!"

Is not how things work.
They took out old features and added new features, making another version that is exactly the same as their last one is pointless, and redundant.

People who care so much about GBA will buy Lites, and people who don't will buy the DSi.

How the smeg is Guitar Hero DS 2 going to work? I'd take a GBA slot and all the GBA games over a camera any day.

RE: Nintendo Press Confrence Tonight in Japan - Confessor - 10-03-2008

So buy a DS lite.

Some people like to complain, so they'll find any little thing to argue about.

Fact is: be a smart consumer. If you want something the DSi doesn't offer but the DS does, get the DS. If you want a camera, Wiiware and an SD chip but don't play GBA games, get the DSi. If you want both, get both. If you can't afford both, select intelligently.

Wait wait, the DSi can play Wiiware?

It's been confirmed that the DSi will have it's own DSware, Nintendo will change "Wii Points" to "Nintendo Points" for this change.

Virtual Handheld, anyone?

As long as it's not another Mario Party, I'm fine by it. Although a new Kid Icarus game would sound good.

Off-topic: I doubt they are ever going to put effort into Ice Climbers again.
