I gave Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 as examples of what to do, as far as I recall.

I understand you perfectly you don't get why Sonic Team is trying to so hard to make Sonic all smiles, and he's Mr.#1, why they can't go back. But my post wasn't directed towards you. It's directed towards too many outspoken fans. "Why can't they get it right?"
"Why did they change _______?!"
"Why the fuck did they bring in MORE characters?"
"Why can't they be like the old games!?"
My understanding is there's a public outcry of 'what Sonic and Sonic games should be!' My understanding is - "If you know so much as to what Sonic and Sonic games should be, you should develop your own Sonic game." That's all. It wasn't a personal attack at you Rokkan. I respect your opinion.
To answer your question as to WHY Sonic is all smiles now is because his character personified is he never lacks his confidence nothing can beat him or tear him down unless he's dead. Sonic's natural attitude is he's cool, he's fast, he's suave. The games push that. Focus, the reason i brought up the comics is they pay homage to that but they humanize him with fears, disillusions and worriment.

That was a good game, probably the BEST they've had so far...
SA1 and SA2 were awesome mostly because of the Chao Garden experience..they need to remake that so badly..
(it would completely save sonic if u ask me)
