I'm cool with a game update thread before I teamed with tuna I was actually gonna release some screens and stuff myself, but it's cool RE: TSR's First Board-Wide RMXP/VX Contest *VX NOW ACCEPTED* - GrooveMan.exe - 08-05-2009 (08-04-2009, 08:29 PM)cranky_cunt2acca03e Wrote: i aso added zach KK to the list and GRoooveybaby i want to quit our team. i have picke dup intrest in VX and a new plot i have going and HONestly i find it easrier to work by myself. : - ( sorry Groove Baby =/ Whatever... RE: TSR's First Board-Wide RMXP/VX Contest *VX NOW ACCEPTED* - cranky_cunt2acca03e - 08-05-2009 boink topic is up. it is REQUIRED that you use it so I know that you havent given up on your projects. also sory again gove it just so much easier for me to make a project in my own RE: TSR's First Board-Wide RMXP/VX Contest *VX NOW ACCEPTED* - GrooveMan.exe - 08-06-2009 After writing a bunch of characters and location info, I've just realised I have no fucking clue as to how to put this shit together, much less find appropriate spritework for everything. The default character sprites are ugly as all hell, and existing sprite styles that could replace 'em are either just as ugly, or bitch hard to edit. I'm screwed. RE: TSR's First Board-Wide RMXP/VX Contest *VX NOW ACCEPTED* - cranky_cunt2acca03e - 08-06-2009 use VX : - ) RE: TSR's First Board-Wide RMXP/VX Contest *VX NOW ACCEPTED* - GrooveMan.exe - 08-06-2009 VX is smoother, but uglier (Everyone turns into a Pokémon DP sprite. wonderful). It doesn't actually fix any of the problems I have; in a similar fashion that if one struggles at using Photoshop 7, using Photoshop CS4 does little but add more options. While I have the ability to write plot, characters, and items, and (at a longer stretch) think up feasible, possibly even fun game mechanics - I'm neither foolish nor self-absorbed enough to think I can produce a competent game, let alone a competent RPG, on my own. I'll see if I can build some maps and build an item/skill database, but I'll have hit a horizon at the point where I have to impliment events and graphics. If I don't make any significant progress in the next week or so, feel free to excise me from the contest listing. RE: TSR's First Board-Wide RMXP/VX Contest *VX NOW ACCEPTED* - Ekoi - 08-06-2009 I'm pretty knowledgeable with RPGmaker in general, and know how to work the rubyscript some. I'd like to be someone's partner, as I have no ideas/concepts for characters, stories, and all of that jazz. However, I really would like to rebuild a old unique combat system I made a long time ago in RM2k3. If anyone's interested who'll actually be dedicated to finish the project, throw me a PM. RE: TSR's First Board-Wide RMXP/VX Contest *VX NOW ACCEPTED* - GrooveMan.exe - 08-06-2009 So, uh, after the Spamhaul 2 drama, the person who was running this thread is no longer around. Any one want to take over? Any one care? RE: TSR's First Board-Wide RMXP/VX Contest *VX NOW ACCEPTED* - Adam - 08-06-2009 You could take it over! In your hands it might actually be a good tournament. RE: TSR's First Board-Wide RMXP/VX Contest *VX NOW ACCEPTED* - a babyass man - 08-06-2009 if the project continues i'm not gonna be a judge RE: TSR's First Board-Wide RMXP/VX Contest *VX NOW ACCEPTED* - Raytheon - 08-07-2009 i dont know RE: TSR's First Board-Wide RMXP/VX Contest *VX NOW ACCEPTED* - GrooveMan.exe - 08-07-2009 (08-06-2009, 09:13 PM)Dex Wrote: You could take it over! In your hands it might actually be a good tournament. While I wouldn't mind, I'd change a few things. - While everyone is capable of heading their own project, there are no real 'teams', everyone is obligated to assist anyone else, but individuals have full control over what happens to their own project. - People can join as 'helpers', giving them the official ability to C+C ideas and engines, help with plot, finding or making resources, etc. There'd be an award at the end for the best helpers. Project leaders are also helpers by default. - Everybody works on an aspect of the project simultaneously. We all help eachother write and overarching plot, then characters, then weapon systems, etc. In short, I'd like to downplay the 'competition' aspect in favour of everyone being able to help eachother, and as a result the RPGs have a much higher chance of actually being finished. As harsh as it sounds, no one is going to be able to finish an entire RPG on their own. Assistance is vital. If you guys are cool with those changes, I'd be happy to oversee~ RE: TSR's First Board-Wide RMXP/VX Contest *VX NOW ACCEPTED* - Ravecat - 08-07-2009 DO IT. |
