RE: Stone Guy - Devicho - 11-07-2009

Sorry to kinda keep this going, but I really just think bnewton should at least be suspended. Honestly, how many topics has he posted in that haven't spawned some argument?

RE: Stone Guy - PrettyNier - 11-07-2009

hey everybody bnice to bnewton if you don't want this to happen again OKAY?

RE: Stone Guy - Medevenx - 11-07-2009

I almost forgot about the argument they were having and I'm amazed this thread reached 4 pages. bnewton's posts were useless from his 1st post to his last post on my thread. Anyway, both edits IMO look dirty. I like Drew's edit with the shading. But the dots could be cleaner? I'll try editing it myself. I'll probably change the colors of the arms and redo the head because I can't seem to make a headbutt attack with the head. :/

RE: Stone Guy - DioShiba - 11-07-2009

As far as the dots were, I was trying to make it look a little like stone, but I suppose you do have a point.

Also if you are going to redo the head, maybe you could make it smaller a few pixels down, maybe try to make the eyes somewhat smaller if you can, that could work.

RE: Stone Guy - -Dark- - 11-07-2009

The dots don't seem like enough to make it a rough stone texture if that's what you're going for. maybe some strategically placed dithering(aka less uniform) would be better.

I'm no expert when it comes to textures Sick

RE: Stone Guy - Devicho - 11-07-2009

Maybe a little bit of highlighting would help? Nothing crazy, but it might give it more depth.

RE: Stone Guy - PrettyNier - 11-08-2009

It's not about dots, or even dithering really, it's about texturing and lighting

i did add an extra shade but it can probably be removed!!

RE: Stone Guy - Gors - 11-08-2009

that edit looks good, Gizmonic.

Now, shouldn't the stone man have a blank space between his left arm and his torso?

EDIT: Oh, nevermind. His arms are alright. I just think that they blend way too much with his pants...

RE: Stone Guy - Vipershark - 11-08-2009

which again, is a quirk of 1up's style
the legs are always black

Well, 1up usually makes his sprites bigger, so the arms and legs don't blend in real bad.

And gizmonic that is an awesome edit, really does give the stone look. And you have an excellent sense of color. There's some sort of shading on the pants though that is nearly impossible to see, it would probably be better just to remove it or increase the contrast. Great job.

I am so sorry for posting an off topic comment after this topic started getting back on track.

But this is simply the funniest post I have ever read in tSR.

RE: Stone Guy - Medevenx - 11-11-2009

That is totally wicked! But i'm not digging the nose. Wink

RE: Stone Guy - Dave - 11-11-2009

I'm concerened about the nose as well, maybe is the shade under it.
But I'm not sure.
