RE: What Are you playing? Spring Cleaning edition - miyabi95_ - 04-22-2016 Probably going to the local arcade with my dad this week. He loves Ms Pacman lol! But I do enjoy the arcade that we have - they have some new and fun arcade machines as well as pinball machines. RE: What Are you playing? Spring Cleaning edition - Goemar - 04-23-2016 Ratchet and Clank. Good work Insomniac, good work. Not really a fan of the new direction the company seems to be taking at the moment mind... RE: What Are you playing? Spring Cleaning edition - miyabi95_ - 04-25-2016 Going through my Samurai Spirits phase again...In case you couldn't tell xd But everytime I play through each of the original 5...IV is the only one that's actually playable for me. The others have enormous learning curves - you'd have to be a professional martial artist so you could have the patience to wait before striking (which I clearly don't have). IV brings the fighting down to a more casual level (at least if you set the difficulty low enough) so that players can have fun just slicing and dicing their opponents without having to feel like they're training with Mr. Miyagi. III is the worst. I can't even get passed the first round - usually against Galford. That little Naruto-ass shit just keeps striking and guarding and then he disappears and comes spinning down to cut me into pieces. I set the game on the lowest difficulty and still made zero progress. It says a lot about a game when you can't get passed the first level/board/round/fight. Even for arcade games that deplete you of coins anyway, that's still crossing the line. I have to say of all characters I've played as in these games, the most balanced would have to be Cham Cham and Shizumaru. They both move pretty quick, aren't too flimsy, and have good range with their weapons (as well as using their weapons as projectiles). Nakoruru is pretty much the fast type in the first two games with no other special qualities, but she balances out in later entries. RE: What Are you playing? Spring Cleaning edition - puggsoy - 04-26-2016 Just died on the last bit of the final boss of Ittle Dew. Quite possible the most frustrated I've been at a game for quite some time. It's not necessarily difficult to figure out what to do, it's just Ittle is so lousy at combat and there's so many enemies to deal with at once. RE: What Are you playing? Spring Cleaning edition - DarkGrievous7145 - 04-27-2016 Late to post this, but I played the the game with the bade of the day on Monday on Kongregate to earn this week's Kongpanion. http://www.kongregate.com/games/sushistory/10-more-bullets I do have some complaints, though, as have been mentioned in the comments by others. To put it simply, this game is extremely grindy, and your score is largely dependent on luck, due to the fact any serious points are gained by successfully invoking a several wave long chain-reaction. RE: What Are you playing? Spring Cleaning edition - Goemar - 05-01-2016 Well finished Ratchet and Clank. Man, that game is pretty - and good. Hope the film and game finds success and causes the series to make a bit of a come back as it truly deserves. Tried the Nioh demo... more Dark Souls nonsense, just have no interest in these kind of games. I don't mind hard games (hell I try and one-credit most arcade games and completed Ninja Gaiden black on the stupid hard mode) but games where there's just no slow build up or guide to how to play - that isn't building a sense of mystery and wonder - it's just lame. Like seriously, give me a combat tutorial or something so I don't have to die 8 times by the second guy and watch the game load before I have a clue what I'm doing. RE: What Are you playing? Spring Cleaning edition - Davy Jones - 05-08-2016 Star Fox Zero (Wii U), played to Zoness and completed it. This game is basically Captain Clusterfuck in terms of controls, it's just plain bad and only acceptable if you're not in all range-mode. Pacing is slow as hell (especially with this hover glider and Direct-I), the dialogues are cheesy (German version) and plot-based it's a rehash of the old N64 game. Definitely not the pinnacle of the series, that's still the mentioned Star Fox 64 / Lylat Wars. RE: What Are you playing? Spring Cleaning edition - Goemar - 05-08-2016 If Star Fox was having like a game every year, I could understand them wanting to switch it up a bit. The problem is they switch it up to the max like every game. Just give me a freakin' traditional Star Fox game - jebus... Pretty damn disappointed specially as Platinum was involved here and they are normally pretty damn awesome. Can't wait to see how bad Metroid turns out to be... As for me, playing Alienation. Pretty nice. Dead Nation was a great game, and so is this. Definitely more faster-pace. It's almost like a top-down arcade version of Destiny. Though no local co-op which is a huge bummer. To be fair there's so so much stuff coming out I'm kind of trying to blast through things at the moment. I mean I've just completed Ratchet and Clank (still have Challenge Mode to play), started Alienation, then Uncharted 4 is out, then Doom, Shadow of the Beast (really hope it's good) and then towards the end of the month Turtles in Manhattan - like so many games... And I'm still giving Track Mania Turbo for a spin every so often. Pretty good spilt-screen on that as well. In fact, it may be the ONLY good racing game that has split-screen on the whole PS4, what that smeg is that about... RE: What Are you playing? Spring Cleaning edition - psychospacecow - 05-08-2016 Overwatch, yugioh tag force, and Fallout 4. Not so much playing in some cases as remembering to complete on account of finals. RE: What Are you playing? Spring Cleaning edition - iyenal - 05-10-2016 Sonic Colours. A game little known (big problem of communication from Sega), but he deserves to be known as Super Mario Galaxy. Yes the Wii is discountined, but for me this game is the best game ever. It have the highest graphics I've seen on Wii, using all the graphics possibilities of Hollywood. RE: What Are you playing? I guess it's not a bad thing because I really enjoy the Sonic Rush gameplay style. I would have bought the Wii version, but I was way to busy with high school at the time so I could only play handhelds xd. Anyway, I've been trying to complete Deathsmiles for iOS. I never realized how much of an advantage players have with STGs on smartphones considering you can move more carefully with your finger as opposed to using a gamepad. RE: What Are you playing? Spring Cleaning edition - Goemar - 05-10-2016 I don't think scores for iOS versions of shmups are taken seriously... at all. I mean I love Death Smiles, very good 'starter' shmup and a great game. But if someone told me they 1CC'd it on iOS. I would offer them nothing but an eye roll. RE: What Are you playing? I could care a lot less about scores xd. I think unless it's a game with a single objective like Pacman or Mario Bros., scores shouldn't matter that much. Deathsmiles takes a non-competitive approach to an arcade-style shmup by using immersive visuals and plot. With that said, it's still interesting enough to try to complete . RE: What Are you playing? Sonic Colours Wii have incredible level style, high level graphics(motion blur, emission lights, good water, glowing, HD textures),many stages(6 in each planet), challenges and game land, I have replayed it 3 times and never get tired of it. If you want you can play it on Dolphin with 60 fps with custom HD textures UI pack. RE: What Are you playing? Spring Cleaning edition - Goemar - 05-12-2016 Dooooooooooooooom |
