caipoeira is really fun because it's not only a fighting style, but it's also a "dance" and a "game". I took some caipoeira classes at my school and I had a lot of fun with it.

do you know the power of aikido

RE: do you think they have a ninja school - Joseph Styling - 04-25-2010

Arguably the most powerful martial arts in Japan.

An Aikido practitioner is practically invincible, no one of any martial arts background can ever land a punch or kick on one.

Using the power of the attacker, the Aikido practitioner uses absolutely no energy to knock them down.

A fearsome martial arts it is.

tekken got the caipoeira fighting style pretty spot-on, except for a couple or so moves that are impossible (or really unprobable) to perform

the thing with caipoeira being a "dance" and a "game" is that at first, the fighting style was used by black slaves to defend themselves, but later on, as slavery was banned, caipoeira was still seen as something ethnic and a harmful fighting style instead of culture. So, in order to make caipoeira to be seen as a cultural thing, they started doing caipoeira fights with rhythm (a tambourine and a jew's harp plays a music with a constant rhythm) and showing it off to the public. The fights doesn't involve each one harming and beating each other, but just dealing attacks and avoiding/blocking all of them, like if the two fighters were dancing. The rhythm, being faster or slower also affects how "fast" the fighters will move, they have to move within the rhythm of the one who's playing the instrument. This is why I said that caipoeira is seen as a "dance" and a "game" too.

Aikido does not reflect attacks.
It reverses them, and furthermore: Add more force.

A reversed 9mm bullet is more like a fucking cannonball made of burning suns of rage. It could easily tear through a tank.

That is the power of Aikido.

One of my internet bros is from Rio de Janeiro.

When we aren't calling eachother extremely distinguished gentlemen we're just generally exchanging culture and shit.

A fearsome martial arts it is.

But because of it, it's entirely useless offensively; it's the Wobbuffet of fighting styles.

Also it doesn't deal with kicks as efficiently as punches.

My Aikido dojo is across from a Karate dojo. We usually get alot of rude remarks from them, such as Aikido being for weaklings.

Well, one of them challenged me, he was a white male in his 20's. I accepted of course, I never back down from a challenge.

He had really good form, but his Karate was no match for my Aikido. He delivered a great kick but it was nothing for me, I easily grabbed it and knocked him down with a kick. This went on for about 10 minutes until he got too tired.

He got frustrated and left, he was about to cross the street but I stopped him from getting hit by a speeding cyclist. He didn't say thanks but it still felt good to save someone.
