I put them under "stupid people who need common sense" because honestly one can not really dictate how one dresses if you don't know them.

lmao i can assure you a religious woman saying "YOU SLUTS" are not feminists where do you even

and for the like but taken to far, once again ^

i really hope you didn't just go "taking it too far" to a guy who just explained why the idea of even saying that is stupid and can't possibly lead to any kind of reasonable discussion between two parties who hold a disagreement, as though i'm some kind of crazed irrational strawman

Yeah I did, because its your opinion the phrase is stupid..

what are you even saying, did you actually read what i said or do you think i'm some kind of supervillain who's out to call people stupid for no reason

More or less yelling off "YOU SHOULDN'T DRESS LIKE THAT YOU ARE A WOMAN AND SHOULD DRESS LIKE A HOMELY HOME MAKER BECAUSE YOU ARE A WOMAN AND SHOULD CLEAN AND COOK ALL DAY LONG BAHHHHH"

Not really feminists either but they call themselves that so yeah. "Stupid people who need more common sense" thats where they go.

No, I read what you said, and I don't agree with it at all.

Okay since I knew this might happen and why I posted it in the first place was to get Profanisaurus. I had no intention of being rude to people who actually choose to be aware. But my girlfriend is aware of what she wears. She likes what she wears. She only asks me my opinion. I tell her more often than not you don't have to dress to please me. If I was forcing her I agree that I was in the wrong.

I apologize for the end of the paragraph Profanisaurus because I was aware you were but that wasn't an attack at you but those who feel they ought express unintelligent opinions. It's why I quoted feminist as in I do not believe my friend truly understands what one is. Please believe I find nothing wrong with feminism and expressing a problem but there was none, and she seems to feel a need to express it constantly.

PenguMaster you don't speak for me. No one does, I may be bad at articulating my emotions on the internet but I'll try my hardest so people can understand what I'm trying to convey. In short please stop doing whatever it is your doing cause your making my original post look even worse that it must have made others feel.

might as well add that it was mostly woman yelling this.

RE: What do you dislike? - DadNier - 07-10-2010

so, what, do you think that the people who "take it too far" actually think in their heads something along the lines of "eheheheh yes i like this thing but now it is time to take it too far!! that is what i am thinking"
and do you think anyone will say anything other than "yeah man i agree," i mean by definition you can't want "too far" or else it wouldn't be "too"
and then how do you know what "too far is," the ACTUAL problem is agreeing what that is, in which case there are a myriad of better and more productive ways to address that
dialogues involve two people!! you have to say things that also work from the other person's perspective (kind of like how i'm taking the time to very thoroughly explain my viewpoint to you) to some degree
and then there's also the specific problem with that specific conversation about feminists because feminists who take it "too far" (which my guess is that is supposed to mean some kind of made-up pop culture nonsense like "man they hate men, what the heck!! and they want all women to dress like nuns too!!") don't really exist and if they do then jesus they must be few in number relative to more rational people

where does the explanation not work/make you not agree, exactly

edit: since other posts came up while i was typing this, to ensure perfect clarity: this is directed at flannel

What the fuck, its a matter of how you take it, so your telling me if I said "Some people take being a fan of something too far, for example, Rioting after soccer games, thats taking your love for soccer to far is it not? Or people and twilight, taking it far to seriously, they are taking their love for it to far", seriously I wasn't even trying to start anything.

RE: What do you dislike? - Koopaul - 07-10-2010

I don't know anything about feminism nor will I pretend like I do. However I do think women have it pretty darn good these days.

It's damn easy for a girl to get a guy. Its not the same for a guy. You gotta jump through flaming hoops, and dance on eggshells without breaking them.

pros and cons for women
pros and cons for men

i somehow think everything balances out in the end. but what would i know.

what i dislike is how some people just have to label everything. a friend actually said, "so is your musical taste metal or post-hardcore" i don't even know what those mean, i listen to music that i like.
