RE: What movie did you just watch? - Marth - 08-19-2011 Cars 2 with my family. I went in expecting a really bad movie, it waasn't as bad as people made it sound. Honestly I enjoyed it alot more than the first one. This was a spy movie and actually a pretty good one at that too. RE: What movie did you just watch? - Rakia - 08-21-2011 I saw 30 minutes or less. I wasn't expecting much so I thought it was good. My friends were expecting more so they didn't like it too much. RE: What movie did you just watch? - Gwen - 08-26-2011 Watched Defiance the other night. Fantastic movie. RE: What movie did you just watch? - Judge Drej - 08-26-2011 A few days ago I saw The Help. A great movie, that was pretty accurate with the events and attitudes of early Civil Rights times. Not only that, but it was a good female empowerment flick as well, with the protagonist white woman trying to make her way as a writer, and sticking up for people who few dared care for. And one of the black maids had an abusive husband who she finally gets the courage to leave. Excellent movie, even if it did have some potty humor. Now who wants a piece o' this "chocolate" pie? RE: What movie did you just watch? - Chris2Balls [:B] - 08-28-2011 Rocky. I had to watch the end three times to understand better the outcome (still not sure). It was alright. RE: What movie did you just watch? - Shadowth117 - 08-28-2011 Right, this isn't exactly a movie and I don't know if this is old news to you guys yet, but this has to be about the most amazing fan short I've ever seen. Its based on the first Portal game and while its got a different, more serious feel to me than the game, its all done very well. The only thing I hate about it is that it will probably never be a feature length film. RE: What movie did you just watch? - Chris2Balls [:B] - 08-29-2011 I watched I Am Legend again. I found the film so sad this time round, that I had problems breathing because of the ball in my throat (I was on the exercise bike). RE: What movie did you just watch? - Jalopes - 09-09-2011 Return of the Jedi yeah it was pretty bad Well, not entirely. Han was great, most parts with Luke were great, the end confrontation with Vader and the Emperor was cool, it had solid visuals all around, and, well.. pretty much everything else was really, really boring filler. It also doesn't help that the final confrontation keeps getting interrupted by the fucking ewoks and the Lando parts. Made it really difficult to stay engaged in what was happening, and at one point I was thinking of shutting it off in boredom (the Luke/Vader parts kept me from doing so). The majority of the movie felt rushed and lazy, like Lucas was tired of Star Wars and just wanted to get it over with. And I'm pretty sure he actually stated he was in that mindset when working on RotJ. Well, it shows. So yeah, pretty disappointing. Having rewatched the entire original trilogy, I can definitely say with confidence that the Star Wars "saga" is pretty disjointed and doesn't really work. As individual movies, both Empire and especially the original Star Wars are great, and RotJ is just really boring. Put them together and it's a bit of a mess - not surprising, after all they were written as they went along. |
