I think I told him that. I rejected it because it would be pretty dumb making it have a link with the series. It's like, making a Mario game where every enemy is a zombie version of itself and it's all gruesome and gritty. Just make another series and call it a day (or in the Pokemon case, go play Shin Megami Tensei) RE: Remakes, Reimaginings and Reboots - Gors - 06-19-2012 yeah, still it's an concept I'd like to work on someday. or not WELP, i doublethanked RE: Remakes, Reimaginings and Reboots - Gaia - 06-19-2012 A proper remake of Bad Fur Day, or at least Nintendo re-buying Rare (and an in-house crossover). Hey, a guy can dream right? RE: Remakes, Reimaginings and Reboots - Goemar - 06-19-2012 I'd be happy seeing them release the old multiplayer on XBLA... It'd be like, "What if Team Rocket had succeeded?" I mean they were already chopping off Slowpoke tails which is pretty gruesome as it was a delicacy, and they are mobsters, so seeing to the death pokemon battles doesn't really strike me as that odd. Colosseum in a way was close to this, it had a gritty underbelly, and I'd actually be extremely interested in a pokemon game as such.(06-19-2012, 09:36 AM)Zac Wrote:(06-19-2012, 08:48 AM)Gors Wrote: this reminds me of a dream I had. RE: Remakes, Reimaginings and Reboots - Mutsukki - 06-19-2012 People and Pokémon only die by diseases. The Slowpoke tail thing is kinda violent, but there isn't anything graphic, ever. The Slowpokes are seen really energectic after that too. Everytime I think "Why we never had a Team Rocket or whatever game", I remember it's a kid's game and that having the bad guy winning is kinda terrible. I don't think it's a bad idea, I just think it would be dumb to still call it Pokemon Also, Team Rocket is a bunch of mobsters who fights with bats and rats to intimidate people. RE: Remakes, Reimaginings and Reboots - Gwen - 06-19-2012 I just used them as the example as they were the first I thought of, but Pokemon could easily be gritty, but it's chosen to stay a children's game, which is fine. RE: Remakes, Reimaginings and Reboots - Kriven - 06-20-2012 Gritty Pokemon? Is Mewtwo getting his own game? RE: Remakes, Reimaginings and Reboots - Baegal - 06-20-2012 inb4 reading the thread, but: Pokemon stadium 3. 5 Generations, Pokedex 3D Graphics, a way to pick your own moves in free battle (unlocking certain moves through "story" mode so you don't just have the default four moves for the Pokemon to choose from), and a way to connect with and battle friends. Come on Nintendo. We need this. RE: Remakes, Reimaginings and Reboots - SKELTON S. SKELETON - 06-20-2012 Can someone actually point out a good reboot to a franchise that was actually good, I mean, besides Strider 2 RE: Remakes, Reimaginings and Reboots - Vipershark - 06-20-2012 (06-19-2012, 11:09 AM)Mutsukki Wrote:(06-19-2012, 09:36 AM)Zac Wrote:(06-19-2012, 08:48 AM)Gors Wrote: this reminds me of a dream I had. Pokemon Conquest renders your point completely moot RE: Remakes, Reimaginings and Reboots - Cobalt Blue - 06-20-2012 (06-20-2012, 02:15 AM)MRSKELETON Wrote: Can someone actually point out a good reboot to a franchise that was actually good, I mean, besides Strider 2 and almost any of the recent contras. RE: Remakes, Reimaginings and Reboots - Goemar - 06-20-2012 I loved Contra 4 but Hard Corps wasn't well... good in my own opinion. As it didn't carry the Contra name I'd say it was more of a spin-off. Contra ReBirth (despite the name) seemed for of a one-off as well. More of a celebration of the series than a reboot (much like the other ReBirth games). As Contra 4 is a sequel (even if it never came to the UK) so technically it's not a reboot. + Strider 2 was awesome... why isn't it on the PSN yet? RE: Remakes, Reimaginings and Reboots - SKELTON S. SKELETON - 06-20-2012 strider 2 probably isn't on the PSN for the same reason strider wasn't in the initial release of marvel vs. capcom. capcom doesn't hold the rights to strider as a character RE: Remakes, Reimaginings and Reboots - Goemar - 06-20-2012 Really? I did not know that... RESEARCH TIME! |
