RE: The Kickstarter/IndieGoGo Thread - SonicWind - 05-11-2014 (05-11-2014, 06:17 PM)E-Man Wrote: That Kickstarter mentioned something about learning a new language just for the game? I'm not sure exactly what it means by that, but I assume that it is very similar to "dino talk" found in Star Fox Adventures. While it is a cool idea on paper, it is just silly and is a little frustrating to understand (not to mention that after Slippy Toad finishes the translator, you never hear anything else relating to the language again). If the language of Maherian isn't for you, don't worry-- the developer is planning a stretch goal for an English dub; if reached, you'll be able to choose between the two. RE: The Kickstarter/IndieGoGo Thread - Jermungandr - 05-11-2014 The way they handled it in Star Fox Adventures was sort of neat ... however it had the major flaw of sounding too blatantly made up. The VAs literally sounded like they were just reading off a list a syllables; it didn't sound genuine in the slightest. This game that was just linked, however, seems to have a huge advantage if the performance in the preview is any indicator. Had you not told me it was made up, I honestly don't think I would have even realized it was not a real language. It's such a pity they have a little over 600 grand to make up for in as little as nine days and probably won't make it. This seems so important. RE: The Kickstarter/IndieGoGo Thread - Koh - 05-23-2014 This absolutely needs to happen! This is a pretty important first step in solving the energy problems. We need to help this thing spread around! RE: The Kickstarter/IndieGoGo Thread - Gwen - 05-23-2014 They can just extend the deadline I'm pretty sure RE: The Kickstarter/IndieGoGo Thread - Koh - 05-23-2014 I hope so, but it's also kind of sad that they would have to. Something like Homestuck raises two mill in the first couple of days, but something like this that would push society forward barely gets much attention. RE: The Kickstarter/IndieGoGo Thread - Kitsu - 05-23-2014 Entertainment projects usually seem to get the most overall probably because it's easier for people to see the benefits they'd get from it personally btw they managed to get $200,000 between yesterday and today, so they might actually stand a chance lol RE: The Kickstarter/IndieGoGo Thread - Jermungandr - 05-25-2014 Holy shit, they did it! And with seven days to go still. RE: The Kickstarter/IndieGoGo Thread - senjen - 05-25-2014 Those Solar Panels are awesome here's hoping they come to Canada as well RE: The Kickstarter/IndieGoGo Thread - SonicWind - 06-29-2014 Timespinner is a 2D Metroidvania inspired by classic PS1 and SNES games, as well as Star Ocean, Castlevania, and Mega Man X. The game's story follows Lunais, a young woman born with the unique ability to telekinetically control Magic Orbs. After soldiers from the planet Lachiem invade her village, destroy it, and kill everyone there-- including her family-- she angrily sets out to get revenge by gathering the pieces of the titular artifact to manipulate and travel through time so that she can take down the empire that ruined her life. |
