I guess since this was bumped, I'd chip in with something. Up until a few years ago, I never knew the Beamos from Ocarina of Time had noses and mouths. o.O

EDIT - Wait. They got legs too?! There's another thing I didn't know. O.OSweatdrop

I just discovered in Returns to Dream Land, if Kirby stands on the ground under water, and you press the attack button while hitting the reverse direction button with good timing, Kirby can perform his bubble attack in the opposite direction without actually turning around.

In other words ... it looks like he's performing a fart attack.

Apparently Rayman 2 is really easy. So right now I'm wondering how it could've taken three or four years to beat it as a ten-year-old. I guess I was just messing around replaying previous levels when I couldn't beat the one I was on...

Either games are a million times shorter nowadays or I have lost that sense of child wonder that kept me from rushing through games in a week or so.

Honestly I'm not sure which one of those I fear the most.

I felt the same way about Super Mario Land when I replayed it recently. I remembered it being time consuming as a kid, but when I played it now I blasted through both the normal and hard modes in about twenty minutes. And I wasn't even trying to speedrun.

Speaking of Cave Story, I recently discovered that the Lv 3 Bubbler is actually the greatest weapon to use on the Undead Core (the "final" boss) despite what most people on the internet suggest. The trick is to leave Possessed Misery alive, so she'll keep shooting swarms of fish projectiles at you. Using the bubbles that surround you as a shield (while being careful not to run out) will net you tons of hearts and exp chips, keeping you both healthy and your weapon maxed out at all times. It was so cheap and I'm surprised nobody ever seems to have suggested it.
