On top of getting rid of HMs as items altogether, lol. But I like this idea. Imagine breeding a new Pokemon, and it has a huge movepool from its parent, but you can only select 4 for use for battle. I'm totally stealing this idea for a monster raising game we may make down the line. Breeding could work better anyway, like Dragon Quest Monsters. Rather than input always equals output, you mostly get a new, stronger monster every time (unless it's like, a Slime with a Slime, but even then it's still stronger). This encourages the player to experiment and try out all sorts of combinations, whereas in Pokemon there is no such thing. RE: Pokemon Sun and Moon? - Monobrobe - 05-16-2016 Seeing that this region is based on Hawaii, that mysterious artifact that you can get in X/Y makes a lot more sense. It definitely looks like it'd come from this region. And it looks like I'll finally be going back to fire starters like I did for the first three gens. This is the first gen where I like all three starters and only have a slightly stronger preference for one. I do like all the gen 3 starters, but I only liked Torchic when it first came out. It seems like Popplio is getting the same treatment as Oshawott from the fanbase. The poor guy. I do admit, it does seem like they're just rehashing old ideas for these starters. But, considering this is the SEVENTH generation, it's to be expected that they'd start running out of new ideas. Though you'd think they'd try to make more exotic starters, considering it IS Hawaii. Maybe the other Pokemon will be more interesting? Still. We need a region based on Australia. They've got some of the coolest animals, like the platypus. Actually, why the heck haven't we had a platypus Pokemon? RE: Pokemon Sun and Moon? - Goemar - 05-16-2016 Wasn't Psyduck like a platypus? RE: Pokemon Sun and Moon? - Koh - 05-16-2016 No, a full duck. Same with its evo Golduck. I was thinking there was probably one somewhere too, but I don't think so...no birdlike Pokemon with a beaver tail exists. We have actual beavers at least, in the form of Bidoof and their evos. RE: Pokemon Sun and Moon? - Dolphman - 05-16-2016 There's really nothing duck or bird about Psyduck and Golduck. For starters, they have claws, long thick tails, and are based on the Kappa. Most realism artists do tend to go with making them resemble platypuses (yes that's the correct plural) more than ducks. A platypus is a monotreme, which are beaked mammals that lay eggs. Echidnas belong to this group as well. You know the Belgian comic creature, Marsupilami? They're a fictional species of monotreme. I do agree we need a region based on Australia, but the hard part would be digging into our native fauna besides the "stock" animals. And it's best that they don't include invasive species that are legal to kill here, like cane toads, foxes, rabbits, Indian myna birds, and cats. One good example of one of our animals that not many know of. Say hello to the Christmas beetle. It is a native species of scarab beetle that's only active during our summer (December to February) hence the name. For an idea of what prehistoric Pokemon they could base them on. Some of these could be good examples. RE: Pokemon Sun and Moon? - Koopaul - 05-18-2016 Here's a list of animals I want to be Pokémon. Hummingbird Kiwi Moose Koala Iguana Lemur Capybara Narwhal Mosquito RE: Pokemon Sun and Moon? - psychospacecow - 05-18-2016 I'll throw some non-region specific stuff out there. Cassowary Armadillo Chihuahua Ankylosaurus sea cucumber pokemon tardigrade Snow Hare Popcorn rooster Satin bowerbird non-psychic tapir llama harpie something related to brass instruments dolphin velociraptor medical equipment bandicoot dingo peacock RE: Pokemon Sun and Moon? - miyabi95_ - 05-18-2016 Some more music/sound representations would be nice, like Meloetta. More monsters who are dark/brooding/fierce but also super cute like Absol and Sneasel/Weavile. (Well, Litten's probably a good start xD) RE: Pokemon Sun and Moon? - Koh - 05-18-2016 (05-18-2016, 03:47 AM)JazzGW Wrote: More monsters who are dark/brooding/fierce So...Batman? RE: Pokemon Sun and Moon? - Omegajak - 05-19-2016 There is not enough Shark Pokemon. Caravanah evolving into Sharpedo is strange to me. Also no Killer Whale? Make it a Starter? I dunno. we need a Killer Whale, Ice and Water Type that can learn Fire Fang please. RE: Pokemon Sun and Moon? - Jermungandr - 05-19-2016 Isn't that essentially what Kyogre is? RE: Pokemon Sun and Moon? - Koh - 05-19-2016 Evolution or Prevolution of Farfetch'd named Unleekly. Evolution or Prevolution of Farfetch'd named Absur'd. RE: Pokemon Sun and Moon? - Jermungandr - 05-19-2016 This being Hawaii, I bet we'll see a dolphin pokemon at the very least. We haven't seen one of those yet, right? Also, tropical birds. Lots of tropical birds. RE: Pokemon Sun and Moon? - Koopaul - 05-19-2016 Farfetch'd can't have a pre-evolution. It only has 1 EV yield which means it's a first form Pokémon. The only Pokémon from Gen 1 that can have a baby form (that hasn't been made yet) are Lickitung Kangaskhan Pinsir Tauros Lapras |
