RE: Project: Superb Mario Bros (!Flash Programmer Wanted!) - ChaosBlazeX - 01-29-2009 Okay, right, I've started a little bit more work on the game - I wanna get all the general physics of the game done now, rather than have to go back through all the levels all over again at the end. I've added Luigi into it now, and Fire Luigi, and the very first Goomba! Mwhaha. lol. Cheers for the updated sprite sheet aswell, HunterZ. Now - gameplay element wise; does Luigi jump higher than Mario? I forget. lol. RE: Project: Superb Mario Bros (!Flash Programmer Wanted!) - andrio - 01-30-2009 He jumps higher, and slides more. But i honestly don't mind. If that's something you can't really do, it doesn't matter. If you want he can just be a reskin. Like, jumps and walks the exact same way, just different sprites. Oh, i'll do the actual Weegee sheet. Hunterz weegee is good, but....i'd prefer my one in it. No hard feelings, Hunterz? RE: Project: Superb Mario Bros (!Flash Programmer Wanted!) - ChaosBlazeX - 02-01-2009 Hey y'all. I've added a tiny bit more, so I've made another Demo quick. I'm aware there are still a few visible glitches, so if you can, try and point them out for me, and give me ideas on what else to add into the game too. I didn't adjust Luigi's jump height in the end, not because it was hard or anything, simply because it allowed Luigi to skip past puzzles which Mario could not. Also - what would you say to more playable characters? i.e. Peach, Toad, etc.. even if they're unlockables; it'd be best for me to make them now. DOWNLOAD HERE (Available for 7 days ONLY!) Notable Additions: - Luigi is now a playable character - x8 Window Screen Size - Updated HUD (names, buttons) - Very first enemy; Goomba - Character Selection Screen - [!] Block Feature Added RE: Project: Superb Mario Bros (!Flash Programmer Wanted!) - Solink - 02-01-2009 (02-01-2009, 06:43 PM)ChaosBlazeX Wrote: Hey y'all. I've added a tiny bit more, so I've made another Demo quick.I like it =D the only problem I see is that if Mario thouch the side of a block while jumping, he can jump a second time EDIT; and you still need to fix the fireball RE: Project: Superb Mario Bros (!Flash Programmer Wanted!) - andrio - 02-02-2009 Fixups -Slow down the fireball by a tad. And yeh, clean it up a little. -Make Fire Mario turn into Mario when hit, not die. What I'm Doing/Gonna Do -I'll add the real fireball, coins, mushroom and fire flower sprites -I'll upload a better sprite sheet (with my luigi, fireball throw poses (even while jumping), and ducking. - Plus some other fixups with the sprites. RE: Project: Superb Mario Bros (!Flash Programmer Wanted!) - ChaosBlazeX - 02-02-2009 Yeah, heheh, I'm not too bothered about the fireball right now, I'll clean it up at a later stage, may take a while. - and okay cool, but I really like HunterZ's Weegee', I like how he jumps. lolol. (maybe we could have alternate Luigi skins..?) Also, whilst your at the whole extra sprite thingy - make sure you do Mario/Luigi's death pose, I don't like having them die instantly. RE: Project: Superb Mario Bros (!Flash Programmer Wanted!) - andrio - 02-05-2009 Oh, don't worry, I'm giving my weegee that same jump poses. And I imagine you'd want someone with more advanced tools anyways. I have the full version of GM7, however I agree with you on buggy. I'd love to get ahold of Flash. However, I hear it's obscenely expensive. Well.. unless you have your college provide it. (unfortunately I'm not still in college) RE: Project: Superb Mario Bros (!Flash Programmer Wanted!) - andrio - 02-05-2009 There is........another way. Torrent, that is. I hear it's also a big file, too. RE: Project: Superb Mario Bros (!Flash Programmer Wanted!) - Raccoon Sam - 02-06-2009 Flash isn't all too big. In the long run, it'll be worth it anyway; in the next few years Flash and its brothers will be a likely necessity to do pretty much any rich media in the internet. It's already going that way, and it has developed from a mere Windows-only animating tool to a cross-platform rich multimedia content developing tool. IT CONSUMES US But no seriously, Flash is great. Everyone get it if you can. RE: Project: Superb Mario Bros (!Flash Programmer Wanted!) - Runouw - 02-06-2009 If you are still looking for a flash programmer, maybe I could help. ChaosBlazeX is doing a pretty good job as is.Cheers Andrio. Any more sprites coming soon, btw? I need to add more stuff to the levels soon or it'll get too repetitive. I've added the score system and extended the level further since. ... I also added a Cheat Mode- with awesome cheats which I won't spill the beans about yet. -- with Cheat Mode activated it won't allow you to save game, so no worries thurr. RE: Project: Superb Mario Bros (!Flash Programmer Wanted!) - Kirbyfan - 02-07-2009 Hey, I wanna help with this, so maybe I can help sprite? RE: Project: Superb Mario Bros (!Flash Programmer Wanted!) - Kamon - 02-07-2009 I really love the colors you picked for your mock-up pictures. The style is adorable. I hope this goes places. RE: Project: Superb Mario Bros (!Flash Programmer Wanted!) - andrio - 02-08-2009 Haha, me too. Kirbyfan, i know you're eager to help, but i'd like myself doing the spriting. Mostly because, it's my style, and it'd be better off if i did it, otherwise it'll be some weird mix of my style and something slightly different. No offense. |
