RE: Punch-Out!! WII - evildevil - 04-11-2009 Bear Hugger was also in one of the arcade games, that predate MTPO. For that reason, I expect to see Dragon Chan make an appearance as well. RE: Punch-Out!! WII - DioShiba - 04-12-2009 Wait isn't that magic guy from the first punch out in this? RE: Punch-Out!! WII - Ark Kuvis - 04-12-2009 That's Great Tiger. RE: Punch-Out!! WII - evildevil - 04-12-2009 He hasn't been confirmed at this point. RE: Punch-Out!! WII - evildevil - 04-17-2009 http://nintendodpad.com/Welcome/News/Entries/2009/4/14_Punch-Out!!_Launch_Center_.html Has some new info there. It isn't sourced, but I expect to just be Game Informer info (as I havent read the magazine firsthand). Also, Target is carrying reservation cards for $1. When you buy the game (which is expected there 5/19, one day after the official release), you get a $5 gift card. So technically, the game is only $46 there if you buy one. RE: Punch-Out!! WII - evildevil - 04-18-2009 http://gonintendo.com/?p=79620 Title Defense Mode. No real specifics, but it's expected to be previously defeated fighters with new patterns. The older GameInformer online interview mentioned an "initial roster", so if there's more than thirteen fighters, they're probably in there. RE: Punch-Out!! WII - evildevil - 04-23-2009 I apologise for quadruple-posting. But Bald Bull has been confirmed. http://gonintendo.com/?p=80260 RE: Punch-Out!! It's just whenever I see piston honda he reminds me a bit of a sumo wrestler but he actually does boxing actually never mind I was thinking of E honda name confusion there =| RE: Punch-Out!! WII - evildevil - 04-25-2009 So, that's eight officially confirmed characters now. Add the extreme likelyhood of Mr Sandman and Super Macho Man (they appeared in almost every game, only missing one arcade game each), brings us to ten. That leaves three slots left. I expect Dragon Chan to make an appearance somewhere. Like Bear Hugger, he was a SNES boxer that originally appeared in an arcade game. Great Tiger or Soda Popinski are decent choices for one of the other slots, but their stereotypes concern me for the world we live in. And all three of the fighters I just mention can't make it, since one of the unconfirmed slots is the "Dream Fight". I kind of expect Doc Louis to be the final opponent. Next Level Games said they had "big plans" for him. RE: Punch-Out!! WII - DioShiba - 04-25-2009 (04-25-2009, 01:36 PM)evildevil Wrote: I expect Dragon Chan to make an appearance somewhere. I didn't know Great tiger and Soda Popinski were sterotyped. well, maybe except Popinski being a drunk but...Great Tiger I can't really tell RE: Punch-Out!! Terrorists are the most recent stereotype for those dressed like him, but before that, it was a more well-known one. Soda Popinski was obviously just the soviet drunk. I think Ireland took the stereotype since then. ...I might be wrong in some of the specifics there, but it's a start. |
