rest in peace Sad

in that case, Gunvolt 1 should still be updated to match the Striker Pack's release (adds JP voice acting and bugfixes) anyway? i think? but ye it's deffo worth the purchase once you get those points sorted out

RE: What Are you playing? It's time to switch *snap* - Goemar - 03-27-2017

Yeah the update for the first one is there. I don't know if there's any way of getting gold points without buying buying new games though - and well, I can't see myself buying new Nintendo games anytime soon...

Also currently playing Blaster Master Zero. Very good and enjoyable game so far. I have never played the original game (I always wanted to try it out, but because reasons... Shy ).

I love the games presentation and exploration. I really reminded me of old Metroid games, mixed with a little bit of Zelda thrown into the mix. I love that stuff. The story is... okay so far. It doesn't make you feel odd or weird out, which is something I often do on most games. But this one here is short, simple and to the point, just how I like it (I will not tell anything specific, because of spoiler reasons) Smile .

The controls kinda feel slippery with the tank and sometimes it's kinda hard to hit anything that small with your normal tank blaster, but thats a minor thing you can get used to (thanks to sub weapons). Another thing which I kinda have to meet a lot of times tho is the fall damage of this game. I just hate that fall damage, when you're outside of your tank (I know why it's there, but still), which killed me more than anything else so far Unsure .

The rest are current thoughs on some game related stuff, so I will put these into spoilers, to prevent you from getting spoilered:

Warning Spoilers!
I'm looking forward to see the rest of the game... it has been a long time, that a game made me play it 4-5 hours straight Smile .

EDIT:
Finished it today... man... Big Grin  I really liked that game a lot. The only thing, that was kinda annoying was the already mentioned fall damage, but other than that, it was a enjoyable ride. Thumbs Up

Warning Spoilers (Heavy Endgame)!
I recommend this game for people, who like a mostly fleshed out but also short game. I beated the whole game it in two days, which kinda is short (compared to other games), but still, it's a sweet candy, I would prefer over an overaged, gross and dirty bar of chocolate (short, better short an enjoyable, than long and with no fun at all) Smile .

RE: What Are you playing? It's time to switch *snap* - Goemar - 03-29-2017

To be honest, I found the whole game pretty easy. I missed the flash grenade first time through so had to get that and anything from the dark rooms for the 'true' ending.
As for the 'first' final boss, anything but the wave gun works well. Didn't have an issue with anything else. Didn't have any issues with true Final Boss.

Your map also tells you if you've missed an item or anything in a dungeon, so once you beat a boss and if you believe you've missed something (as far as I can remember no boss dungeons contain anything but the item you get for beating a boss) you can just check that.

Other than that it's just a case of using the wave beam as Jason to easily plough through any overhead bits (shooting at a 45 degree angle and through walls).

Only time I think I died was when you had to get out of the tank and jump and grab a ladder as Jason (the thumb stick kind of sucks in this regard - so use the D-Pad). That was about it though, rest of the game was pretty damn easy... Specially when compared to the original.

It's probably worth stating that I played the original a fair (and that was a pretty damn hard game).

As for me, on the final level of Noitu Love 2 - you know, it's pretty damn uncomfortable to play - like makes my wrist hurt kind of uncomfortable. Haven't been doing amazing at it but the final boss is pretty hard when you have to be damn quick and your wrist hurts like hell...

i tried playing intermediate matches in league, but the other teammates threw a lot of salt at me for being new to the game. the least they could have done was give me some tips and pointers. they didn't even think before deciding "FUCK IT LET'S JUST SURRENDER BECAUSE ONE PERSON IS STRUGGLING A LITTLE BIT EVEN THO WE AREN'T EVEN HELPING THEM"

and yes, i prefaced the fights by saying i was new.

ALSO, let me mention that these were casual vs. AI matches. aka "not too big of a deal just chill out and have fun" matches.

it's almost as if newbies aren't allowed to play games.

Quote:it's almost as if newbies aren't allowed to play games.

And that's why genreally I almost never play a game in online mode. Mostly because when I get a game, others have it already before me and know like everything to stomp me. Not only they are gonna destroy you, but they will also taunt most likely, while your teammates want to show off what "die hardcore guys" they are by shouting at you like little preschool kids.

If I always play something online, than it's every time with my friends.

Most of the playerbases in online games in general are having a lot of time for playing said games. Therefore, it's no wounder when you are not as good as the guy, who does this 20/7, while you spend barely 4-5 hours a month (well, if you're as busy as I'm, with more important stuff in life to do).

I love some of those "helpful" hints they give you somethimes. Some of my "favorite" moments of online gaming quotes:

"If you don't want to lose, don't suck so much!"
"Play the game better to get better!"
"Spend more time on your game! I did it too and look what I'm now!"
"git gud!"
"If you're bad at the game, then don't play it!"

Super helpful indeed... sometimes I wish, I would meet more nice people in these games and not always... these guys Unimpressed .

EDIT:

Quote:I missed the flash grenade first time through
Funny, I seem to be one of the only people who found that on his first playthrough. I often read that people often missed that or don't know, what to do with flash grenades (which is funny, because the game literary tells the player that it "brightens up dark places". Weird... Shy

I don't see a problem with the game being easy. It's a good game to introduce you to the series. I never played a Blaster Master game as I said and still liked what it is. But many seem to hate that game for not being the "original". Mostly the difficulty being too easy (can be made harder by using weaker weapons, which properly is the reason, why it's easy most of the time, because it should be beatable even with the weakest weapons in mind), the "anime" part of the story (they mixed original JPN story with the "weird" US story... fans wanted the second alone... why? I always though, the US story was a joke, with the frog eating nuclear waste in the garden of the boy, who apparently has a tank in a cave near his home? I really like the way the brought parts of the american version into this game, while not feeling like a joke story) and the soundtrack (again, fans wanted the original soundtrack... I mean, that would have been neat and all, but the current musictracks are not that bad... I really enjoyed listen to these).

But yeah, many people often like to wear their nostalgic googles when it comes to new games, remakes and remasters. I understand it, if a game is bad. But is BMZ bad? No, definitely not as bad, as some of the stuff I heard about the sequel of Blaster Master for genesis (I heard it's soundtrack on YouTube and that's definitely a bad soundtrack already).

well, i mean newbies are allowed to play games, just not league

but it's OK because really no one with a functioning brain should be allowed to play that cesspool of machismo known as league of legends. it's about as cool as vaping beer

As for Blaster Master, nah wasn't saying it was too easy, or the difficulty was a bad thing. You just seemed to find it more difficult than I did. As for introducing you to the series? Man, what series? It's only this one and the original worth playing (with this one arguably being the better game).

It's damn nice to see Blaster Master come back and be good, the game has had a lot of crappy sequels/reboots/re-imaginings over the years but has never had anything come close to the original or even serve as a worthy tribute to it - and now a game has come along that can stand on equal ground.

Can't say I've heard anyone not liking the game. Though I was disappointed with the soundtrack (even the 'tank launch' at the start missed the mark). The music wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Seems to be a thing with Inti lately, either great music or 'meh' music. Like MM9 sounded great and then MM10 was pretty bad. MM Zero 2 had great music while 3 was rather dull... you know I think I've already said this before...

Still BM Zero - great game.

Though I don't expect anything exciting from the DLC I'm really excited to see what Inti Creates do next.

i wouldn't say league is a bad game itself. i've never played RTS games until now and i'm getting used to how things work. i was just talking to someone about how i hate having to use point&click controls and they explained that it was imported from controlling MULTIPLE characters in DOTA - point&click definitely makes that more convenient, so it made more sense to me.

bottom line - how i rate league:
gameplay 8/10
presentation 9/10
community negative infinity/10

ok ok my smack talk about the game is based pretty much on my sole experience also playing the game for a few years, which were really a dark time in my life. i was hardcore addicted. i missed booty calls over it. it's a great game only if you're playing full scrimms with friends - otherwise this game's community is so unbearably awful that it really ruins the experience (and to that extent, the gameplay) if everyone was as humble as LCS players playing it or heck, even the fighting game community, then i'd definitely enjoy it.

i stopped playing just before vel'koz came out i think - and that's literally the time Riot hired a bunch of AAA staff, sharply stepped up its production values and started to look as nice as it does today. for the record i've still got LoL merch kicking around my apartment; I'd really rather just watch the game six thousand times more than I'd spend even 20 seconds playing it. i've very highly considered reinstalling the game, purely just so i can watch lee sin fly around my screen at 144fps

I know the last game I played was Battlefield 1.

RE: What Are you playing? It's time to switch *snap* - Goemar - 04-07-2017

Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight.

Pretty damn good game. Sometimes the damage taken from bosses seems a bit random (like the same attack seems to be able to hit you multiple times on some occasions but not on others - which is a bit weird).

Other than that though, very very highly recommend.

I was just playing Team Fortress 2 not too long ago.

RE: What Are you playing? April May Bring More games - Cloud6625 - 04-09-2017

I preordered Persona 5 months ago to get it day one, but ended up being busy so I couldn't get it until Friday night Sad.

I pretty much can't stop playing it; Its absolutely my current game of the year. Everything about the game just screams the devs put love and care into the work on this game. Its polished to a mirror shine and has the most fully realized style I've ever seen put into a video game. The characters and writing are excellent as per usual for a Persona game, and the gameplay is drastically improved over the previous games. I used to dread having to go into long stretches of Tartarus or the T.V., but in Persona 5 I purposely went in multiple days in a row because I was having such a blast in the Palace.

Just in case anyone was wondering, I pretty much just finished the very first Palace and am more than hooked. I don't think I'll really be doing anything else for the next few weeks... If you're someone that likes a good JRPG has played the previous Persona titles, or just want an incredibly well produced video game, and haven't picked this game up, then do it. You will not be disappointed.
