Gors, do you think there should be intro and victory animations? I juuuuust noticed you haven't made any. Not that there haven't been fighting games without intro animations, but victory animations are usually a staple. Any thoughts?

I would love to see intro/victory animations, if it was reasonable to sprite/program. Something like SSBB's for the intros... Ness teleporting onto the battlefield always makes me nostalgic.

my plan was to include them too, but I avoided doing them because it isn't as important as the actual gameplay sprites.

I had this idea for a semi-final stage where you fight bad recolors of the fighters.
They are ridiculously weak, but you fight multiple 'recolors' at a time. Kinda like the Fighting Polygon Team.
Maybe the intro text can be "Only Fighters who Fight custom Fights are true Fighters! Round 1... FIGHT!".
It's an idea. Just pitchin'.

To clarify, I think he was referring to the shittier ones which use neon colors and take generic forms (I.E. bad mega man recolors/sonic recolors/mario recolors, each resembling Sonic Advance/Mario & Luigi/Mega Man 7 sprites in terms of stance and idle).

But yeah, I also suggested a sort of a "power struggle" in which when two specials are activated at once, you and your opponent have to keep mashing the buttons until the the gauge at the bottom of the screen is filled in your favor (as in, You <oooooo<>-------> Opponent).

Yes I love this idea, we should have this.

Also, wasn't there something said about some members being strong against another particular member, like in Mega Man/jenken-style or something similar?

I don't think that'd be too good of an idea, because then, if you have two people of equal skill, the one who picked the character with the weakness is probably going to lose.

I'm just saying, I thought it was mentioned once long ago. Like Gillian being strong against Koopaul or something, but I could be thinking of something else, like them being rivals instead. That's probably what it was.

blargh, not sure exactly what you're implying with that, but I haven't played a fighting game with a weakness chain. Not sure how well it'll fit into it.
