Judging from the WereSonic gameplay trailer, it looks kinda like a combination of Knuckles' Sonic Adventure 1 gameplay with Big's Gameplay. Seeing him punch up enemies, lift up heavy objects, and cling to a wall. One thing that I didn't get is that there were TWO green Chaos emeralds in that trailer instead of one, maybe it's a fake emerald? But WereSonic does still seem only about half as fast as regular Sonic. (I laughed when I saw WereSonic doing a balancing act on the rail!)
It's also good to see Eggman being closer to his Adventure appearance again.(Better than how he looked in SNG, seriously a neck and not fat?) Here's hoping Eggman will re-assume the role of main villain and not get upstaged by someone else again.(Chaos, Biolizard, Metal Sonic, Black Doom, Mephiles, Gemeral, Erazor)

I believe that one emerald was the green emerald, and the other one was the Cyan emerald. But the emeralds are drained so the Cyan doesn't look like Cyan more like teal.

Because the development team is different. They're the same guys who are working on the PS2 version. The reason they're not showing it is because the graphics are decidedly of lower quality.
Because they're showcasing the game in its early stages (it's not even a beta yet), it would make little sense to be handing out a lower-quality graphical version along with the slowdown issues.
